Hi one and all,

I,m here to introduce myself to this wonderful community and hope to be part of an awesome hobby whilst making new friends.
I wonder if my story is similar to others in which I have been interested in the hobby from a young age (10 years old I recall) starting with Warhammer Fantasy 4th Edition. High Elves were my main focus, instantly drawn to the artwork and scenery, fascinated as there was nothing else like this I had ever seen before.
I then went into a Games Workshop store and noticed a crew of Imperial Guard, Jungle Fighters of Catachan '95 and was again sucked into a new world of 40k, and spent many hours painting my new Guard!
2004 found myself again thinking how I wanted to start creating a terrain table and build a new army, this time....Army of Chaos! For Fantasy
2009 Acquired Assault on Black Reach
2012 Stumbled upon an incredible online show about all things hobby and was instantly addicted and completely blown away! The show was Beasts of War.
I soon decided on starting a Necron army and purchased a starter set for that faction...Followed by Airbrush/Compressor set, paints, and new 6th edition Rule book.

2017 Now a backstage member of Beasts of War, watching the Weekender and XLBS every week, listening to others views and discussions about the hobby, like I am amongst true friends with a similar passion...

Growing up my friends were not into this hobby, maybe due to the image it carried and the sad ideal of being part of the "In crowd" There was no one I had to share this amazing past time with...

I am 34 years old now, and have NEVER played a game of Warhammer...Or any miniature game for that matter, a sad case of circumstance and now the fact being my age felt I was even more daft for wanting to play with little figures, possibly due to never being involved in this scene.
After meeting someone very special, they encouraged me to finally pursue this, and even wanted to get involved!...She wants to be an Ork! But we won't judge.
So here I am, saying hello...A fairly long hello. I'm from Flitwick in Bedfordshire, England, so if anyone is around these parts looking for game or part of a group, would be great to hear from you.

Happy Friday and all the best

Paul

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
