So i decided that in anticipation of 8th edition that i would get away from my Blood Angel army and start something new... I figured a nice green Salamanders army would be a nice change from all that red. I want to paint my Primaris Marines as Salamanders but i wanted to try it out first.
I took an old pewter Iron Hands figure and stripped it as best i could then started in with the green. I custom painted the dragon w/flames in the middle of the banner, i was nervous to attempt it but I think that it turned out Fantastic. i just wish that the power fist didn't block the view as much. Not too proud of the power fist fingers but i've got to stop at some point and just call it good. Also not sure what to write on the top of the banner, any suggestions would be great, i was thinking "XVIII" since the Salamnders are the 18th Legion. I had to carve off the Iron hands symbol on the chest piece and to replace it I originally had a white transfer, but it didn't fit with the overall colors being the only white, so i painted over it with bronze/gold/silver to try to make it appear raised and 3D, I'm quite happy that i did.

Beautiful paint job. Those primaris marines are really quite a bit larger.
