So everything is supposed to be relatively balanced against similar units/weapons/items now, or at least thats what i gathered from the recent hype surrounding 8th edition. So with that said, why do Ork Blast weapons suck across the board when compared to IoM blast weapons, and still cost roughly the same amount?

Would it have been to much to give Orkz an extra D3 or D6 shots depending on the weapon?

They need to change shots to hits. Then blast weapons would actually be worth it

@SemperMortis: Because they're a Xenos weapon. That's honestly all it comes down to, you can't have anything equaling or beating what the Space Marines/Imperium has to offer; otherwise the largest player base will be upset. (well, that and the fact that GW balance simply isn't a thing).

I'm hoping that the Codexes and Chapter Approveds will rebalance the game; every faction has things that are underpriced and overpriced.

good point. BTW, thanks for mentioning the over priced/under priced. Because didn't GW say this edition was seriously play tested? because atm it doesn't look that way.

Private in house play testing can only find so much. No game ever comes out even remotely balanced at the start

That's why they are going to re-update point costs every year. Mass public play is the best way to find all the imbalance in a game.
