Hi folks. My group and I have been considering trying AoS and have started to piece together some warbands. I just discovered the Hinterlands rules and this looks exactly like how my group would enjoy the game the most. For Hinterlands, it seems to all be calculated off the points in the Generals Handbook. That brings us to my question.

Can the skirmish book rules work for Hinterlands? Should I buy the skirmish book, the Generals Handbook, or wait for the new Handbook I just read about? Any idea when the new book will be released, will it have points, and would it make the current Handbook at all obsolete?

A lot of questions, I know, but any help would be great!

Hey there :-) I am the creator of Hinterlands. Thanks for checking it out!

Hinterlands was made pre the release of AoS Skirmish and is designed to work with just the General's Handbook. Saying that I would definitely wait for the new GHBII!

It would be difficult but not impossible to use AoS Skirmish with it. The biggest conflict would be to work out how much renown a gold coin is worth. I think 5 Gold Coins = 1 Renown would probably work.

I hope this helps!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
