Howdy internet world.

I am quite passionate about Titans. I have already made a thread regarding my first attempts to make an 8mm true scale Reaver. That first model was finished but I wasn't entirely happy with the quality. Several following iterations followed with me trying to learn to sculpt and get the details better. But I never could get them looking as I wanted.

Now I am trying a different tactic.

I am sure you will all know of the Forumware miniatures? Well I decided to build copies of these. I already had been working on casting my own stuff - mostly terrain such as wrecked space ships and been working on a modular system but that's besides the point.

So I got myself a Warhound and Reaver Titan forumware model and have been working to make my own. After several failed and partial successes in the molds I have 4 Reaver Titans and 8 Warhound Titans.

So from this base I intend to start modifying the models to incorporate some of the abandoned and ill favoured designs that have made appearances over the years. First up is the alternate Reaver Titan head from way back. This snouted head was always my personal favourite so I will soon be sculpting several prototypes up!

I am also going to be making Lucius Pattern variants of both titans (but steering clear of the GW Lucius Reaver which I personally didn't like) For these I will have to do some sketch work to figure out exactly what I want them to look like.

Opinions and ideas most definitely welcome. Anybody know of any other Patterns that would be fun? Different heads? different Weapons? All welcome!!

Hey Schoon, hey everybody!

Well I finished the fixes to the first Reaver (See better close up pics below) I am quite pleased with it so far. The cast was quite good but there were a couple of issues that I had to fix up but overall not bad.

I have three more Reavers in various states of work at the moment - two nearly fixed up ready to paint the final Reaver just out of its mould.

Also started is the prototype Lucius pattern Warhound. The legs are nearly complete but the carapace has only just been started.

I have started sketch work on the Lucius pattern Reaver as well which is going quite well. I'll post pics of the design when its complete.

For now I am going to paint Reaver 1 and then finish Reavers 2 & 3 as well as the Lucius Warhound prototype.

Hope you're enjoying so far, comments always welcome!

So what did you exactly change from the Forumware models?

One thing I would like to see is an updated (mainly size and detailing) the the old school Warhound Titans

These models are no different from Forumware - They were mainly a test to see if it were possible to cast. I wouldn't have continued if I couldn't then make multiples of models I made - I am aiming to create at least two large Legio forces so need a fair number!

Since they were a success I am working on a Lucius Warhound Titan. It's coming along well with the leg armour sculpted and the carapace begun.

As for the Lucius Reaver I am still designing it. It will be some time before you'll see that.

I have an old school Warhound in my garage. I will need to build and paint him up but I will do so and Post pics of the two together for you

Howdy Y'All.

To start with my apologies if any photo is a bit dark the flash on my camera has died which is a bit crap!

So first up I got my old school Warhound Titan out, built and painted in Astorum colours so I could get the photo Malika2 requested. It is the first photo up.

Next we have the newest Reaver titan to be built - Legio Fureans - this is again another unaltered forumware model.

Finally I have a group shot of all the Titan's currently built. These are the first two War Maniples that I will use to play with.

So on to what progress I have made on the other models. The Lucius pattern Warhound is coming along well with the carapace nearing completion. The Lucius pattern Reaver design is almost done so after that it will be a matter of building the prototype and seeing how I feel about the design. The armour plates are quite different from the GW and a little bit more akin to the Mars pattern but angular,

Hope you like so far!

Comments and questions very much welcome!

These are wonderful! I absolutely love them!

I actually made a table for AT as well as DZC (which is holding me over until AT comes out) here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/728964.page

Ohhh yeah!

I still assume AT will be released in 2018, I hope GW releases terrain as well! The terrain is wayyyy to big for Net Epic / Armageddon but I struck gold when I started building it for DZC and found the scale of AT was going to be larger then Epic

hahaha! You did indeed. I still have slightly mixed feelings about the larger scale. The models will be awesome but larger models nessecitate larger tables and my garage is only so big ;-)

So today I aim to design two variants for the Standard Reaver. First up is a simple mod to make a Vandal variant.

This Variant will have smaller shoulder pads, the Canine style face (To match with Warhound Titans as it is a fast attack variant) and no carapace mount.

This will be followed up by the Goth variant. This will have heavier armour based much on the Knight Porphyrion's bulkier ascetics.

I am aiming to have these two complete by the end of the day and ready to show either tonight (British Time) or tomorrow.

I am upgrading my mold kits at the moment so I am hopeful to get these variants cast tomorrow with the standard pattern as well!

Does anybody know of any other Reaver or Warhound variants? I would love to have a full selection of Variants that will all look different from each other. Also any design suggestions would be appreciated, even If I have finished my own I am always happy to make other patterns and Variants!

If I remember Codex Titanicus rightly (and this is damn near 30 years ago)...

Warhounds had 'Jackal' (anti infantry) and 'Wolf' (war engine hunter) variants.

Reaver had 2 hardpoint 'Hun' (anti light vehicle) and 3 hardpoint 'Goth' (general purpose) variants.

Warlord had 2 hardpoint 'Nightgaunt' (light or more often close combat), 3 hardpoint Eclipse (medium, tactically flexible) and 4 hardpoint 'Deathbringer' (heavy, usually fire support) variants.

A two hardpoint warlord? I think that may well be getting made first for my Warlords! I have legs from another project that will do perfectly for the Warlord.

Last night I got the Hun's carapace basics done, just to sculpt the detail now. The Goth is coming along well but I have gone a bit nuts with it! The additional armour on the leg is looking good but I may redo the carapace. Not so sure I am happy with the direction I took with that.

I never knew the Eclipse variant was only three hare points! That's really cool. Gives me another Warlord class to build.

I kinda look at Titans as land navy. I am a big navy geek! So to me Warhound are destroyers, Reavers are cruisers, Warlords are battleships and Imperators are super heavy battleships (like Yamamoto). So being able to build sub-classes is great fun to me!

On a side note my legio Mortis standard Reaver is nearing completion and I have started painting up a Reaver similar to Red Naga, I've forgotten the Legios name though!

Thanks! I am hoping to post the Goth Class Reaver tomorrow. The leg armour is done and the redesigned carapace is coming along well. Taking longer than I First Hoped but hey that's the joys

Howdy Y'all!

So today I have three sets of images for you. The first is a better set of shots of the Legio Fureans Reaver.

Second is the Legio Mortis Reaver nearing completion.

Finally are three WIP shots of a prototype Goth type Reaver. I had the idea of making it a heavier Reaver and have created a bit more of a background for the type. In my version of the fluff I have it that during the Great Crusade when the nascent Imperium started coming against Xenos Titans they decided to create an up-armoured Reaver Titan with long ranged weaponry to deal with the increasing threats from afar. This extra armour and heavier weapons load out necessitated an increase in the Titan's reactor giving the Goth type a taller body.
In keeping with the long range of the Goth the head has been changed to give it more of a "Watcher" feel to it, lots of eyes.

I hope you like the work so far with the Goth. The Carapace will be modelled more akin to the Knight Porphyrion. I liked its bulky ascetics and thought it would be appropriate for his type. Also the heads design was intentional to make it look like it was designed in an age of science not myths and legends.

Thoughts are always welcome!

Howdy y'all.

Just a quick one. Here is a work in progress shot of my new Lucius Pattern Warlord titan. It's just the legs but gives you a sense of scale with the Reaver titan beside it.

What do you think so far?

Howdy everyone.

I have been working a lot on my own designs for titans of late. The Goth class Reaver is coming along very well and is in fact nearing completion. It features stacked missile launchers on its carapace that are integral rather than the turret based one of existing Hun class. The shoulder pads are bulkier and similar in design to the shoulders of a Warlord Titan.

Also being designed is an Imperator Titan. This is the most work I have put into a titan design before starting work. Kind of needed given the sheer size the model will be! It is a definite departure from the original design and I am completely removing the cathedral style top. I know this won't be to everybodies cup of tea but this Imperator is supposed to be from the Great Crusade era so I felt it appropriate not to have the cathedral structure.

The picture today is of the design concepts for the Imperator. Any feedback would be appreciated. In particular I am having difficulties coming up with what to do with the torso around and below the head. Its a large area and I want to make sure it doesn't look forgotten or half done

Yo world,

Just a quick word on Progress.

Life has been a bitch this year so I haven't had the time to dedicate properly to modelling. Which sucks.

However I have had access to a great 3D printer of late so I have used a Thingiverse to find a suitable Lucius pattern Warlord. I wasn't disappointed.

The model I have used is by a guy by the name of Erdrick. You should check out his stuff. - Here is the titan https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2461782

So I have rescaled and printed the titan at what I hope is truescale for Epic. I will hopefully be doing the first assembly tonight. If this works I will make a mould and produce several for my Legios! I will post pics as and when I can.

Bye for now World

Also the 'Nemesis' - also 4 hardpoints! But much more heavily armed: in contemporary 40k terms, packing 4 'warlord' weight weapons instead of 2 'warlord' and 2 'reaver' weight.....

Damn! 4 heavy weight hard points!? That is gonna have to be one heavily built machine!

Among the many things I need to do is upload pics of the Goth prototype I made! Also need to get my camera repaired as its flash is dead!!

Thanks for the info Iocarno! :-)
