Went to see this last night to a rather empty theater, and oh man, do yourself a favor and go see it! I don't know why it hasn't gotten more traction, but it was glorious

Does it feel like Run Lola Run? (if you've seen it - it's kind of old now!) That movie has the music vid/proper film feel to it.

I saw the trailer for this and Atomic Blondie almost back to back.
I saw the trailer for Atomic Blondie, and my first thought was "someone just watched every spy action thriller ever made and decided to throw in a lesbian sex scene for kicks." Completely dull despite the mountains of action packed into a three minute trailer.
Baby Driver on the other hand just seems to exciting. Had me interested from the moment it started and it just kept getting cooler. Sure it's a heist thriller, but like Oceans it looks like it's actually being inventive with the genre and not an utter rehash of scenes and ideas I've already seen a thousand times.
Not sure when I'll go see it but I'm definitely going to.
Saw it last night and enjoyed it quite a bit. It isn't getting good reviews because it will blow people away with awesomeness but because it is just a really solid overall film. The construction of it and the acting were all very well done and enjoyable. If you go in expecting it to just be a very well put together crime film you will have a good time I imagine.
I should point out though that unlike most of Wright's other films this is not a comedy. Sure it has some amusing moments but if one goes in expecting Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz kind of laughs you will be disappointed.

Subject: Re:Baby Driver movie - Rave reviews so far!
It took in 30 million in its first 5 days (opened on a Wednesday) which apparently exceeded expectations quite a bit and was the second biggest opening of the weekend (behind Despicable M3). Got a lot of great press from that, so hopefully word of mouth gets around and it stays strong!
I also thought it was the best movie I've seen this year, and would love to see more original movies like this made (rather than the franchises that have been dominating lately).
