Been painting the DI box set and I just finished my first Plague Marine. I decided to go with an orangey colour for the tentacles, like some of the recent art works. Let me know what you think

Really good job! really clean and well done, only thing i'd suggest is the helmet lenses need imo to be red to make the head the focal point, other than that i'll look forward to seeing more of them!!

Looks brilliant. better than mine. add some cracks/battle damage with a thin line of rinox hide and underline it with your highlight tone. takes no time at all and looks amazing. check out "Eavy Metal Marines: Death Guard" by miniac on YouTube. He's got some skills

Looks really good, but as with all starter box models I was hoping you'd gone with a different scheme. I'm more interested to see people's own interpretations of the stuff! Very nice brushwork though.

Sorry to disappoint you Elbows haha. I just really liked the scheme and the bit of fluff behind them.

I made them. Pretty easy job: just put a thick coat of the Citadel texture paint Agrelland Earth over the base (painted a layer of Zandri Dust first so the cracks were similar to the crust) and then dry brushed over it with Eldar Flesh

It was pretty simple: I just painted the incense with Celestra Grey (2 thin coats of course), then I washed it all in Nihilakh Oxide so that it was all a chalky aqua colour, then dry brushed it with Ulthuan Grey, getting much heavier with it from the censers to the furthest points, so there was a transition of the Nihilakh to off-white as it got further from the censers.

I like them! Makes me itch to paint mine!

I love a strong, high-contrast scheme like this - something just -this- side of 'cartoony'. I think it works much better than a more realistic look for minis and you've pulled it off marvelously.

Really nice choice of green, too.

Now here's an odd question: what colours did you use for the black axe grip on the Lord of Contagion? It looks like abbadon black+ dark reaper but infinitely richer in depth.

I did use Abaddon Black and Dark Reaper but I added a soft dry brush of Russ Grey where the most light would catch, to lift it up a bit further
