I've recently looked through the Khorne Bloodbound battletome. I saw that Dark Feast and Red Headsman really created a vivid image to me what a Bloodbound force should represent. Do most AoS tournaments allow Battalions? How popular are they in tournaments?

Battalions are very common at tournaments. They are cheap, give flexible deployment (big advantage in tournaments due to turn choice being so important), give an extra artifact, and have the actual battalion bonus on top of it.

For Khorne specifically you will want Gore Pilgrims. It's so powerful as to be auto-take for any Khorne army barring mono-daemon.

What's gore pilgrims and where do I find these artifacts? I've heard about them but have never found any

Search for the leaked pictures from when it came out

First, throw that book out, blades of khorne replaced it second...why wouldn't they allow battalions.
