So I've been lost in a rabbit hole with battle reports, and after watching 90% of the armies in AoS, there was something about FEC that made me ditch my Ironjawz and Kharadron (plus it was more cost effective, and I really want to get in the game and play). I'm ordering the start collecting box, the other package set and the Vargulf Friday, and I'm going to look at paints this weekend. Now I've seen a lot of the flesh tones with bloody hands, the greenish shades etc. I do like the flesh tones but I've been trying to conjure up some ideas for more unique looks. The terrorgeist in particular is eluding me. I've been referencing the various color schemes with the ghouls in WoW, or even the dark transformation form. I'd post pictures but my phone has been a piece lately. If you have any ideas, or even painting guides on flesh that are solid please let me know! Thanks!

For the record this will be my first army. I had planned lists for both Ironjawz and Kharadron that I was going to order this weekend, but flesh eater courts stole the show for me.

Paint them up like the classic piranha. Bonus points for swamp bases.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

I also didnĀ“t want to paint my court in the standard schemes, so my guys became blue!

I went for a very sick looking pale skin but not albino like some of the GW Studio schemes. It was basically rakarth flesh base, shaded with reikland flesh shade then highlighted with rakarth again and tiny highlights of pallid wych. The end result is that they still look human but very sickly.

For a heavily decayed look, try this (I used it on Rotbringers):

Zandri Dust base coat
Reikland Flesh Shade wash
Druchii Violet wash (be more selective with this one)
Waywatcher Green thinned with Lamian Medium wash (recesses and wounds only)

Let each wash dry completely before using the next one. Don't worry too much about making the washes look even. A few splotches help the effect.

I dig the sound of this. Got any pictures of the end result?

That looks awesome! I've added it to the few color schemes I have in mind. I'm also stoked because I just ordered 2 start collecting boxes, a varghulf, a necromancer, and the battletome. Now I need to decide what to construct! I may order a mourngul as well because I hear they're beasts and the forge world model is really cool.

Also, just as a fluff comment, I know a necromancer doesn't technically fit this fluff wise. So I've sort of reworked it in a sense. I ordered the Worm Corpse from Reaper, so that instead of the usual skeleton general style, I have a literal being composed of corpse maggots and worms filled with the masters blood. These worms are thrown or otherwise distributed among the casualties, burrowing through the body of the fallen ghoul and basically repumping it full of blood and regenerating it's wounds. Gonna make him nice and bloody too.

Ah, so a brave and loyal apothecary of the king's personal court who dares the battlefield to bring aid to the valiant soldiers who fight in their majesty's name?

Well it's probably too late to give an idea at this point but I was going to suggest a mix of pale, frost-bitten ghouls and ones blackened and charred by fire.

Reason:
Spoiler:

The reality of them is that they are ghouls from a fallen death kingdom surrounded by frozen wastes but it has a portal to the fire realm to give the heat necessary to keep the living inhabitants alive.

Though now the delusional ghouls have no idea how to keep the fires maintained by old rituals so it flares out of control and roasts half the kingdom while the others are driven to the frosty outskirts.

So now their madness sees them as a rebelling kingdom of "blue uniformed" and "black armored" knights trying to win it back from demons that conquered it. What ends up happening is they attack the portal thinking it is the beast and get sent to random lands and crusade against the new demon holdouts(innocent villages).
