What I want to see
Taking belial makes deathwing troops
Taking Samuel makes Ravenwing and black knights troops
If you have a deathwing list 3/4 of your army can deep strike vs 1/2 or single model deathwing units don't count to your deep strike units, I.E. apothecary and banners don't count as "units" for the purpose of deep strike
Access to cataphractii and tartaros armor
Chaplains, librarians and captains can upgrade their bike to have plasma talons
What I will get
Crappy interomancy powers
Over watch on a 5+

I actually would love to see them fracture away from the Imperium. Have the Lion awaken, be disgusted with the alliance of Guilleman and Eldar, plus betrayal of cypher alliance (although short lived) and separate from the Imperium

My thoughts exactly, you use vanguard and Outrider to run those.
Ravenwing Grenade Launcher needs to be better. make the frag a 2 shot weapon ( 2D6) and maybe bring back some special grenades, otherwise there will never be a reason to upgrade to it from a plasma talon.

The problem is, because the way elites like apoths, banners and champions work, it very quickly eats up your 6 slots.
on top of that it makes deep striking a bitch. For example if I take a deathwing terminators squad, an apoth, and banner, I need 3 units on the field before hand so I can actually put them in see strike reserve. Which sucks because in reality I only have a single squad but for deep strike those single model units count toward that.
IMO for what ever that is worth, I think non HQ characters should not count as a unit for the purpose of deep strike, but that's another issue.

My ideal rules:
All: Grim resolve = overwatch on 5+; re-roll morale (must take second roll)
Deathwing: Unforgiven = +1 attack against Chaos Space Marines; re-roll melee hits (or wounds) against Fallen; automatically pass morale checks.
Ravenwing: Jink = -1 to hit against units that advance instead of Jink rule as it is in the index (inv saves for moving is stupid); Turbo-boost = as is; Teleport homers = terminators can re-roll charges on the turn they use teleport strike.

Troops have nothing to do with putting models in reserve tho, doesn't matter what slot they take up for that.
And you can take multiple Vanguard detachments. 2 HQ's would be a minimal normal, so that gives you 12 elites slots right away. That's plenty for a 2000pt list. Go with 3 HQ's and you now have 18 elites slots, way more than you'll ever use.

The amount of the elites is the not the problem, it's that you can't see strike more then half your army, so for every unit, I need a tax unit to put on the field, and the single model elites make that a problem.
For example if I run one term squad a banner and a apothecary, I then need 3 other units on the field before I can put them in deep strike.
Again not the end of the world because I can cheese it to get it to work by taking guard tax or single models for beer nothing so I can get 3 units on the table to be able to see strike.
Either way I would love it if deathwing allowed 3/4th of your units to arrive via deep strike.

Things I want:
Lion El'jonson, with a model so kickass that it makes Robot Ghoulman look like crap.
Good relics. Bring back the Mace of Redemption so my bike Interrogator is WYSIWYG again.
Some kind of good "chapter tactic". Bring back Grim Resolve and its boost to Overwatch or something.
Updated plastic models for some of our characters. Current Azrael looks kind of short next to a regular Marine.
Improve the RW Grenade Launcher. Give us back our rad and stasis shells.
Give us access to a few of the nice things regular Marines get, like Thunderfire Cannons and the Stormraven (better yet, give us our own DA-specific analog to the Stormraven).

I want to get better overwatch again. Normal 5 and give us a stratagem to bump it up to full again.
Id like the jinks rule to be better then it is now.
Maybe you bring back the Ravenwing support squadron in some capacity.
