so I'm running a deathwatch game through my Colages clubs program and have taken too looking back to history for great battles to run my players through. currently i am working on a mission based off of the Raid on Dieppe. how ever I have run into one spot of trouble. I have realized I have no Idea what the Imperium of man utilised in the place of radar or at least I have forgotten.
If any one can tell me the name that would be greatly helpful.

PS I shall return with more questions and please do feel free to add battles you think I should include.

As in the fluff? You see the terms auspex and sensorium thrown around a fair bit. Both having the benefits of sounding sorta techy and simultaneously recognizable to a native (or at least fluent) English speaker whilst keeping away from concrete technology which may be made obsolete in the near future. I've seen both terms applied from integrated systems in Terminator armour all the way up to items in Forgeworld's 6mm epic terrain (what would be a giant buildings if 28mm) and then up to use in spaceships. Pretty much sounds like the 40k equivalent to Star Trek's ubiquitous "sensors".
