So I got a peek at the Imperial Armour indexes at last, and one thing jumped out at me; for a 200 Power Rating 70 Wounds Toughness 16 monster like the Warlord Titan, it's remarkable vulnerable to spam for one simple reason; everything wounds on 6's.

Now obvious you need a hell of a lot of spam to seriously threaten, but given what a Warlord Titan costs that's not all that hard, and with its huge Toughness it effectively means that Anything Strength 8 or lower is of equal value, so cheaper/higher volume is better, and it's possible to bring a lot of that to the table, and in such huge quantities the warlord can't do much in return.

I'm just wondering what people think Forge World/GW should have done to account for this things?

Personally I would have said that anything half or worse Strength shouldn't be able to wound at all and/or titans should really ignore anything that only does 1 Damage (before rolling, so weapons that do D3, D6 etc. would be unaffected).

It just seems weird that while proper anti-vehicle and anti-titan weapons will be effective, cheap spam can also take a significant toll on friggin' titans. There's simplification, and then there's weirdness like that.

I mean the warlord titan has a 2+ save (3+invunerable, which degrades as it takes wounds) and 70 wounds. So unless your spam has rend (most high volume shooting is rend -1 or worse, so grav cannons could do well). But if no rend it will take 2520 hits of anything S8 or lower to kill the warlord. At BS 4+ that is 5040 shots (3780 at BS 3+, 7560 at BS 5+). Hardly something to be super concerned about.

The easiest spamming of shots will be at BS 5+ (conscripts with FRSRF) So 7560 shots, which to do would be probably 6000 points (5670 points of conscripts, + officers to order the squads) I mean you are looking at 1900 conscripts.

Now you could say that they can do some damage every turn. But if we are playing just 4000 points and your opponent has 23 x50 manconsripts squads each with a commissar/platoon commander to give it orders. They will need to get to 24" to start doing anything, and will lose a squad or 2 every turn (close to 100 models every turn.) so will get much less damaging very quickly.

I watched 30 termagaunts with the assault 3 gun take down a 10w Wraithlord in one shooting. While that may not be the average. No matter how good the save it only takes volume to beat it. 90 shots at bs 4 and to wound of 5 with a 3+ save.

PS, it would only take 840 termagaunts.

Good. Swarms of nids should be bringing down small building sized things through sheer numbers.

The alternative is thing that are immune to the bulk of the units in the game. Which is far FAR worse.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Really? Ok, here's equivilent Power Levels:
1000 Mutants (autoguns) VS 1 Warlord Titan (2x Twin mega bolters + 2x Mega Bolters)

The Warlord kills 83 Mutants in one turn of Shooting sitting at the back of the board. Mutants move forward and advance because they aren't in shooting range yet. Warlord kills another 83 Mutants. Mutants move and fire with their remaining 834 shots and do about 8 wounds. The warlord then shoots and charges them doing killing 92 mutants, the mutants return with 1 wound (assuming 100 can get into base contact or be 1" away from someone who is in base contact). This will carry on for 9 turns until all the mutants are dead and the Titan is left with 52 wounds.

What if the Mutants started out with Autopistols + cc weapons instead? Same result.

Before you say "well whilst the titan is dealing with the mutants, other titans could shoot it up", no they couldn't because that would likely mean there would be half as many mutants on the board.

Lol, yes I done that game figuring as well knowing that at 4k pts only 16.5 30x units would make it to the board and it would take till turn two for half the haunts to shoot on good advances and then turn three for the other half. The idea I got from the op is that why are little guys even able to hurt titans. And after the math is set to the side it would only take a good roll or bad saves for the titan to die from the case scenario. And what guns are there any ways that are good for attacking titans. Not heavy guns they are just as good as the gaunts guns for taking on the titans. BTW my buddy tried to field his heirphant biotitan that now cost 1800 pts and has 60 wounds. It died turn one to space wolves. The flyers I think.

And it's 2.5 wounds per 90 shots I thought

I've got it. Psyker spam with smite. 4k points of low level psykers. Smite it to death.
