So I've decided to dust off my ork army and update it for 8th edition and am curious if the standard base size for them has gone from 25mm to 32mm (like space marines) or even large for nobs?
Anyone?

I base my Boyz on 32. I don't think it matters anymore.

The models currently come with 25mm (including Nobz!) but I would expect them to change to 32mm the next time the models are re-boxed. I am personally putting mine on 32mm because I don't like models to overlap their bases.

I am tempted to put Meganobz on 50mm but I haven't decided yet.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

Personally I prefer the 25mm bases, mainly because that is what I'm used too, and with the bigger boyz squads you want to be able to put models quite close together, especially when piling into combat!

As a matter of principle though, Game Workshop can't tell me how I want to model my toy soldiers. If I want to put my Warboss on a 60mm x 30mm MDF base with loads of scenery, grots and squigs then I will because it looks cool!

Nobz obviouly put on 32mm.

I put 5 regular boyz on 32mm and the base feels a bit too big. I'm gonna put them back on 25mm when I get to my orks again.

One trick I do is cut the legs and reposition them. Its actuallu quit easy because its a vertical cut.
This was they stand upright and fit fine on the 25mm.

I'm planning on re-basing all my Nobs to 32mm, and leaving the boyz on the 25mm bases. Still happy with 40mm for Mega Nobs.

Having said that, for balance reasons 32mm would in many cases be beneficial for Boyz as well. Now I have to glue washers on the bottoms of many a Boy (that sounds.... quite questionable when you think about it!)

Personally I'd leave Boyz on 25mm to emphasis how tiny they are compared to nobz and da boss. Nobz of mine are going on 32mm, non-Mega Boss on 40mm, MANz on 40mm and Megaboss on 50mm.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I put the Boyz from Shadow War Armageddon on 32mm bases, because they don't fit on 25mm bases. For the same reason, Inquisitor Coteaz and one of my Ordo Malleus Inquisitors are also on 32mm bases.

I thought they were the same standard multi-part plastic boyz that we've had for ages?

Yes they are, and they fit on 25mm just fine.
