I was looking at starting playing around LED with Death guard Vehicle, however I am worried about over doing it to be honest, I tend to go overboard on this kinda of thing, So any suggestions on where to start?

I have done a simple string of LED lights on a 9volt battery and fit them in a rhino. I have little skill as an electrician, so cant give you any kind of resistance needed etc. But here's a link to what I did for my Sister's of Battle.

You can either drill out the lights and replace with a bulb, or carefully thin the headlights from inside (if its already together going to be harder) and place them inside to glow through it. Thought I had a better picture of the inside, but apparently not. Anyway, I found all my parts at Radio shack for less than 20$. I bought a simple switch you can see on the top of the rhino's. It just wires into the loop of Led's and actually works as an antennae or something if done right. I won't say its simple, if you can solder and have done such things, you should have no problems.

They have plug and play kits ready for installation for various vehicles. Good for if you don't have any electronics skills of any kind or don't trust yourself with a soldering iron.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Start with, what do you want to light up. Headlights? Under the vehicle? Inside glow? And what colors to use. That will depend on what colors the army/tank will be.

Also some color LEDs don't have a bright glow. They can be seen when you look directly at them but not from the side. Try these guys for light kits. http://www.fallouthobbies.com/ They have lens covers LEDs that look like GW terrain/tank lights. They look cool when they glow.

LEDs themselves are not too complicated to put together either. You don't need a 9v every time you use them. It does take a little know how but can be done a lot cheaper than getting the kits. I've done it on vehicles and knights for a while now. 2 AAA batteries is all I use. Sometimes AA or up to D cells depending on the project(like a Monolith).

Good luck with your project and keep up posted. If you want to contact me in a PM, we could discuss it further.

Hey Pal,

Just saw this post... just tell me the kind (headlights, spotlights under vehicle lights or whatever) the amount of lamps and your favorite color and I'll put them together for you including a battery box, light switch and everything you'll need - shipment may take a few days but it's way cheaper (for free because of the damaged GUO).
