Trying to come up with my first Khorne CSM list for a local league, so far I've come up with;

Just want to comment on the Bloodletters, while you have a good amount of bodies, just do not get anywhere this edition. They either advance to slow or are shot to pieces with their T3, 5+ saves, even when in cover just does not save enough wounds.

They work closer to bubble wrap with out their ability to "deep Strike".

I guess you could just leave them aside (keeping the points set aside for summoning) and try and summon them with the non-csm Daemon Prince, 10 is not to bad to aim for on 3d6.

My KDK like lists when trying to swap over from 7th KDK Codex to 8th Chaos has slowly taken out all the daemons (except for Skull Cannon and Soul Grinder) and replaced them with more CSM, mostly Zerkers.

You're absolutely right, my intention was to use the DP or Apostle to summon them in.
The Apostle will ride with the 'zerks in the rhino to get in face as soon as possible.

I'd say drop the maulerfiends for more zerkers or havocs with las. You could even put in the sicaran with lascannon sponsons (that's probably the best bet, and then use the spare points how you like). Maulerfiends aren't great for their price tag. Definitely run two avenger gatling cannons. They completely outshine the RFBC for reliability and, thus, average killing power.

Also: don't ever rely on summoning in a tournament - it really isn't worth the risk of failing and ending up with an already weakened army.

you need more berzerkers. I am playtesting the same kind of list and have been facing the same troubles.

Next playtest will be with 35 berzerkers and 2 rhinos.

I am using a heldrake to take away attention from my cc advance turn 1. it can even tie a unit up in cc if needed.

Don't use the bloodletters. see argument above.

I only use 2 maulerfiends and have yet to get convinced by them, they are a bit hit or miss with the 4+. They have performed exceptionally and they have performed deeply underwhelming...

Drop the combiflamer on the apostle. He is going to be either in CC with the zerkers or everything within range is locked in cc by your army.

No cc on the knight? like mr happyface told me in another topic : The 6 wound sword is great vs tanks and makes it a priority while the berzerkers advance, + he can move up with your army adding to the pressure.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help!

I'll add in more berzerkers, finding the balance between bodies on the ground and shiny toys has been an issue for me.

CC on the knight i was sticking with his stompy feet -12 attacks with Str 8 -2AP and D3 damage seemed pretty good!

I'll drop the maulerfiends for a heldrake and more berzerkers and see what I can do with the bloodletters gone.

My advice would be:

For the zerkers, I go 9 en 2x 5 , champs should take powerfists (2x attacks + the re-rolls at S8 d3 wounds makes them really worth it.)
If you do, I would not put icons of wrath in the units with only 5 zerkers

The 2x 5 really is handy for dropping of a first and second load and offers you 2x6 powerfist attacks out of one rhino load. and that really has been a lifesaver in my experience.

don't forget to charge those rhinos in to eat overwatch for the zerkers

The prince should have wings, the increased moveability is really necessary so that you can get your beating stick where you want him.
