Since you've got two detachments in your list I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that in this tourney you're able to use multiple detachments.

The second thing I noticed is that your Patrol Detachment isn't Battleforged. You've got to have at least one HQ and one troop choice, and you've got two HQ's and a HS.

So, just looking at what you've got listed.

I'd keep all of the Harlequin units in the battalion detachment by themselves using the Harlequin rules. Rising Crescendo is their bread and butter. You'll need a second HQ though to be Battleforged, a Shadowseer maybe? You can drop the Farseer and Warlock to fit his points.

You could then run a Ynarri Outrider Detachment with Yvraine, three units of Shining Spears- Exarch w/ Star Lance (only three models in each squad though), the Dark Reapers, and the Wraithfighter.

This will give you 1 more CP and a few points left over if I'm not mistaken.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

as long as you play your force well, youll brutalize people. I used my shining spears the other day and they did a massive amount of damage. I love them. MVP unit.

Shining spears were my MVP's the first three games I played, now people are catching on and I have to hide them a little better to start with.

Thanks Bigbaboonass, back to the drawing board. I have found that soulburst on my Harlequins is much better than Rising Crecendo. In my games I find that doing a round two rush is always a better plan, so getting to advance that first round and attack is not that big a deal. Harlies really have to pick their fights, as most armies do not want anything to do with 5 troops putting out 20 attacks, rerolling wounds..... it turns into a domino effect once something dies in the back field, I have taken down 3-4 units with good soul bursting in one round.

Hemlock seems to always work well, but two seem overkill. I have tried the solitaire and he is hit or miss, again needing to pick a good target.

That's pretty awesome! 3-4 units in one phase.

I have yet to use Harlequins with SfD in 8th yet, but if by using it they're able to do that much damage in the fight phase it may be worth looking into.

I just know that the ability to fall back / advance, shoot and assault in the same turn is ridiculously mobile, and from my experience mobility has won me plenty of games over the years.

When you've got your list together, be sure to post it. My daughter likes all of the Harlequins bright colors. So I'm sure they're the next list I'll be working on. They compliment my Craftworld Eldar so it won't be to hard to justify putting together 500-1k points of them. I've probably got that much already, if I look for it.

Anyway Good Luck!

Thank you sir! I played 1600 pts last week against a Demon player, he brought 6 princes, 3 units of horrors and a changeling. I forgot that my Dark reapers always hit on 3+... tabled him turn 5 but all I had left were the reapers and the HQs that were sitting with them. Between fusion and Embraces I was killing 2 princes a turn, as stated he really wanted the hemlock dead too. Army is fun but have to really pick the fights!

Played a 2000pt game vs Chaos Marines.

Ahriman
2 Chaos Lords
2 x 10 Man cultists
2 x10 Thousand Sons units
2 x10 Noise marines
2 Las preds
Hell Drake

This is a very resilient army and my opponent rolled very hot on his saves. I also had my dice go completely cold.

First round I advanced everything up and into cover, both bike units, and all 3 star weavers. Hemlock went into the backfield of my opponent.

Psychic Phase cast WOP on reapers and shot up the helldrake bringing it down to 6 wounds. Also guide on them as well.
Shooting - Killed the Helldrake with my Reapers and then the rest of the army shot at the thousand suns. Killed 6 of 10 from one unit.

Chaos turn, he advanced his cultist to screen and shot at my hemlock and a star weaver. I failed 7 4+ saves on a starweaver.... then proceeded to not pay attention to where I put my troupe, left one gun in sight of the Thousand sons and Noise marines... shot them off the board. Also lost some bikes to more shooting. Hemlock was down to 6 wounds due to Smites and Las Preds.
I proceeded to press my attack and dismounted my troupes and moved up my bikes, shot the living crap out of his army and assaulted. He just kept making save after save. He could never put any shots at the reapers though and they had killed everything not in assult by turn 3. Opponent conceded. I did not have much left, 2 starweavers, all my reapers and HQ's and my troupe leader!

Bikes did not do as great this time, they tied up noise marines but my opponent thought he could still shoot the noise marines even though they were in combat. We found out later that was not the case, he lost 6 noise marines and then proceeded to murder most of my harlies not in combat.

Grades

A - dark reapers, just ridiculously good at shooting. I lowered them from 10 to 8 guys and still was impressed.
B+ - Harlequins - Shot great, attacked great, rolled terrible for their saves. Still, they are something you HAVE to deal with.
B - Hemlock - Ahriman kept denying my smite, killed a las pred and a chaos lord.
C - Shining Spears - One Unit got shot off the board quickly, other was lack luster in combat and shooting. I figured with 20 shots of catapults it would hurt... did not roll a single 6 and did like 4 damage which he saved.
A++ - Soulburst, was told a second time my army power was... stupid.... I have started to really see other benifits, leaving combat or embarking into a vehicle is just as good as shooting sometimes. Once I am into combat and things start dying it just chain reacts.

Not my best outing and my opponent was just trying some new units. He was very unhappy that his Helldrake did not do anything. Told him Dark Reapers will usually kill one unit each turn if not more.

Next week is 1600 pts practice for tourney. Taking out the spears and Farseers, adding another Hemlock.

3 units of Harlies, Embrace and fusion all in starweavers
Yvraine
2 Hemlocks
7 Dark Reapers 1 exarch...

What (if anything) would you change if you were taking a 2000 point list again?

Great question, I would consider dropping a bike unit to add another hemlock, though this is one less unit that can soul burst. maybe take another unit of Dark Reapers. I think eldar really need another decent deep striking unit. I am not a scorpions fan. My area does not like Forgeworld too much either. Or I would try some Shadow spectres.

When in doubt just add more harlies.
