I've just discovered that Furies exist, and I rather like the demon-monkey models, but are they any good? How would you fit them into this list, which is my starting list for the Fate of Konor campaign (which rachets up over time)? Are there any tweaks I should be doing? The campaign is in Power Points at our local store so any more equipment is basically free. I'd like eventually to have four units of five, one for each of the Chaos Gods, but in the meantime how would you introduce them into this force?
The limit at this stage of the campaign is seventy-five power levels.
Warlord - Sorceror with Plasma Pistol, Force Claws - plan is mostly to summon daemons and deepstrike him with the Warp Talons and use Warptime get deep striking troops nearer to the enemy for charges, or Smite to make the target squads easier to squish.
Terminator Lord with Power Fist, Plasma Pistol - I've got Typhus as a model and he's just too cool not to use. Might deep strike him as well.
20 Cultists with Autoguns, two Stubbers, Champion with Shotgun - Just so I can hold and objective and pour on some shots onto anything that I'm not too concerned about, but still want to squash. Mostly they'll be shooting low-priority targets.
20 Cultists with Close Combat Weapons + Autopistols, two Flamers, Champion with Shotgun - run forward, take shots away from more important units.
10 Chaos Space Marines with Plasma, Flamer, Plasma Pistol and Power Sword, Icon of Excess - These guys are going to slowly slog up the board - in the first reinforcement wave I'm going to give them a Rhino so they can get around faster and use that bonus from the Icon
10 Warp Talons - Appear in the rear of the enemy. Pick a target. Stab it to death.
3 Chaos Spawn - Similar to the CCW Cultists, just run forward and take lots of shots, if these get into contact with an enemy that's a bonus, if they can just occupy a few units shooting then I'm happy.
Helbrute with Multi-melta, Heavy Flamer - I'm not sure about the Helbrute yet; last game it didn't kill anything but it took a lot of hits before it went pop.
5 Havocs with Autocannons - Sit at the back and fire lots of shots at anything that either is a vehicle, or ABSOLUTELY needs to die right now. Since these guys are so important, I've gone for all the meat-shields in the Cultists and Spawn.
P.S. In Power Points, do you still need to pay for summoned daemons?
