I put together a new Tzeentch list for local tournaments, and I'm curious if I played it right this weekend. I won't put the full this here, but the meat and potatoes is Archaon supported by a Daemon Prince (General with Incorporeal Form and Phantasmal Weapons), a Gaunt Summoner w/ Familiars, and two groups of 20 Chaos Warriors. I give Archaon Treacherous Bond (essentially Look Out Sir!), the Daemon Prince gets Arcane Transformation (to buff Archaon), and the Gaunt Summoner gets Glimpse the Future (to restore Fate Points). The basic strategy is to have the DP buff Archaon by adding +1 attack to Slayer of Kings, then send in the big guy surrounded by 20 Chaos Warriors, which as long as you can roll average on the dice, essentially give Archaon 60 wounds! For those not familiar, Treacherous Bond has a casting value of 6 and is cast on a friendly unit within 18" of the Wizard. As long as that unit is within 9" of the caster, any unsaved wounds or mortal wounds go to the target unit on a 2+. The wording specifically is thus: ". . . roll a dice whenever the caster suffers an unsaved wound or mortal wound, on a 2 or more, the chosen unit suffers the wound or mortal wound instead." My question is, does the "chosen unit" get to make a save against the wound or use abilities that mitigate mortal wounds, like the Chaos Warriors' Runeshields?
