I found the Alpha Legion assault on the Paramar system to be an excellent reason to learn how to use my airbrush.
I've gone for a more shiny greeney-blue finish as opposed to the usual shiny blue.

Well, prescisely zero pictures were taken today, but I did get a game of 40k in. Lost to 80 poxwalkers + Typhus + Necrosius. My poor Tau couldnt fire fast enough...
Still, +1 to Chaos is almost -1 to the Imperium.

Looking forward to seeing more of these Alpha Legion. Always nice to see other colours explored with AL.

Updates:

The rewards of treason have arrived, Spellcrow's blizzard missile launchers fit nicely on the plastic cataphractii shoulders.
They were good casts and arrived quickly but the resin is quite a bit more brittle than that used by FW.



Number five was used a test model, so he is currently swimming in some dettol.

I'eve also added some of the nearly complete stuff to the gallery.

Updates:

All of the infantry have moved to the trim stage. I just need to put another coat of VMA Chainmail on, then another of VMA Silver.

I've started on the first Calth dreadnought, his joints, mechanicals and trim have had the first coat of chainmail.

Here are some veterans that are nearly finished, alongside thier party wagon. They just need basing and a final once over.

Updates:

Vallejo's dark earth texture paint is a very neat basing material, it also fills up tank tracks like the real thing.
I've covered the veterans, terminators and 16 tacticals with a first coat on thier bases. It will need another coat before a grey wash and a bone white drybrush.

The fire raptor and the rewards of treason are primed and awaiting a dry day to be silvered up.

My deredeo is 'transferring between legions' and has had its loyalist colours cleaned off in isopropanol and is awaiting a fresh coat of primer.

There has also been some work on the Praetor, he is slowly crawling towards being finished.



In other news, I acquired an Inquisitor Covenant model (54mm) over the weekend so he should be fun to paint and a nightmare to assemble.

After resupplying my tamiya clears, I'm back with an update.

The praetor is 90% done, he just needs final touch-ups on the halberd and then basing.




My second land raider has been given its blue coats of colour over the two-tone silvers.





There is also two rhinos and a las-vindi (no pictures yet) that are partially coloured.
The fire raptor has had the first coat of silver (leadbealcher) and a layer of 1:1 VGA Chainmail : VGA Silver in the panels.
The deredeo and the CML termies are primed and await a coat of full leadbealcher spray.

I've also slathered some Dark Earth paste onto some bases, I think two thin coats will probably be neater than one thick one.
Does anyone actually know what this colour is? Vallejo don't actually say what the nearest colour match is, ant it definately isn't VMA Dark Earth.

I built Covenant's torso and psycannon, but the big problem is properly sub-assembling him. The two arms don't fit together perfectly, so need some greenstuff work, but if I stick them to the torso, it makes it difficult to paint the torso.
