I had a shockingly fun battle today vs 3 sets of khorne berzerkers (2sword, 1 axe) 2 dark A, somebody?, in 3 rhinos, and a maulerfiend.

My ghostkeel surveyed the area discovering 3 objectives, then took cover from a surveying mauler fiend that appeared suspicious. It came from the northwest, calling for a rhino to circle east around the huge ruin i hid behind. The fiend came at me with ferocity but the ghostkeels shield proved worth its hefty cost. A piranha coasted to the battlefield slightly southeast of here, intending to take the northwest point the fiend left behind.

Far east 6 stealth suits landed atop a huge ruin, previously connected to its twin by 1st level bridge. They lay in wait out of sight from the rhino that came to east central from the northeast corner and another coming down the center. My commander descended onto the southeast objective with shield drones facing the transports.

Stealth suits peered over the buildings ledge, landing only 1 lucky hit on the rhino below. The commander joined from maximum range contributing light fusion hits..

To the west the maulerfiend chased the ghostkeel as it retreated then got distracted by chasing the piranha, neither succeeded in overwatch but the fiend was half slain by fusion blasts. In two seperate strikes the fiend would take the piranha who forgot to unleash its drones for cover. The ghostkeel slid into the shadows and towards the NW objective.

The eastern rhino unloaded is troops who scaled the walls and even charged over the rails. My stealth suits were ready with counter fire defence which sent a few tumbling into the spiky transport below. The berzerkers swords swung an astonishing number of times 3 suits and a shield drone were defeated. The survivors placed their homing beacon, confident in their tactic then flew to the ground for cover. Behind them 3 crisis suits and 6 gun drones landed about the khornites. Literal fire cleansed them of their lives immediately and utterly.

The drones chased after the khorne leader in the floor below and to the broken bridge. The two units exchanged null shots before the mid rhino unloaded its troops who ripped the drones to scraps. The western rhino followed suit over the mid objective adjacent to this massacre.

The maulerfiend and berzerkers met my crisis suits on their way to my commanders objective and were joined by the eastern rhino. Fire split in all directions to the berzerkers, fiend, and dying transport but spread too thin. Commander and remaining stealth finished the job but took a stealth, and a drone casualty, a paired drone malfunctioned.

To the NW objective, ghostkeel met a rhino and over time claimed the objective to itself. At center the berzerkers tried to charge the crisis suits. The leaders went first, then a decrepid rhino, finally all remainig troops. All but 7 troops burned to death in the attempts they retaliated by killing two crisis. The commander obliterated the healthy rhino this time and the various suits took to objectives.

The enemy had claimed more objectives from turn 3 and 4 but i came back to the lead at 5th and the berzerkers found the humility to retreat. Overall the berzerkers did loads of hits but didnt get to attack each turn from inside transports and the sheer quantity of flamers i had coupled with bait and distraction tactics won the day. Pulse shots didnt do much but werent useless like his bolters were, piranha might not have landed much if any damage but peeled fiend from ghost. Cfd was worth it even compared to ats against this foe.

Last time a similar list dominated me, by outshooting my dice and rolling through entire bases of infantry with melee. This match looked close at some times especially in victory points mid game, flamers did all the lifting, fusion worked out in long run.
