It's a gorgeous summer Friday here in Alaska (at least the part I'm in) and what better way to celebrate that than staying inside and watching a brand new Glacial Geek Battle Report?! https://youtu.be/RKYdaRouc9I This week my Dark Angels take on the Thousand Sons! Tzeentch had tricked the Dark Angels. The Dark God had used its minions to play upon the enmity between the First Legion and the Space Wolves and tricked them into bombarding their planet. The Unforgiven do not appreciate being made tools in the machinations of the forces of Chaos. So when word was received that Magnus and the Thousand Sons were on a nearby planet, the Sons of the Lion sent forth a force to take him down ... and enact a little vengeance. Will the Dark Angels be able to beat back the Ruinous Powers, or will the Dark God of Fate get the last laugh? Watch and find out!

Another entertaining report! I think that your Attack Bike could have rolled 2d6 and picked the highest when you wounded the Sorcerer towards the end of game. It looked like you were within 12".

Cheers

Iain

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

Another good one! I'm just not sure there's a good counter to all those Smites short of allying in some Conscripts with a Commissar or something (which I'm unwilling to do). Also, luck was once again a major factor in that you failed a lot of critical rolls that needed to go your way in order to win. I did like your opponent's army, though. Very cool composition and well painted!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Enjoyable report.

Bow down to Guilliman for he is our new God Emperor!

Martel - "Custodes are terrible in 8th. Good luck with them. They take all the problems of marines and multiply them."

"Lol, classic martel. 'I know it was strong enough to podium in the biggest tournament in the world but I refuse to acknowledge space marines are good because I can't win with them and it can't possibly be ME'."

DakkaDakka is really the place where you need anti-tank guns to kill basic dudes, because anything less isn't durable enough.

Yeah they are considerably better now and will still be getting a new codex as well. Close game.

Im testing out a Culexus and Ezekiel in my new list. There's like a 3 point difference in any face off I have as long as they are all in range. I was running tech marines but but replaced them with psyker defense as chaos abounds me! tech marines seemed to be meh; if someone wants something to die they tend to try and focus it down anyway. The psyker defense seemed more important to me.

I like that idea about the Librarian vs Techmarine ... I have repaired a few (which helps bump back into a higher would tier), but Smite KILLS me ... Might look into that :-)

Yeah. It really was a useful change. I haven't tried adding the Culexus yet... but I'm close... very close haha

Did the 1k Sons not have any CPs? He rolled so many 2s when saving for Magnus, why did he not re-roll any of them?

Also, the helbrute, if he was within 1" of your termies, they don't get to overwatch. Cannot fire weapons other than pistols when enemies are within 1".

All the more reason to use a CP to re-roll those 2's isn't it?
