Hi there, a friend who collects emperors children wants to play his heresy army in 8th. Everything has fitted so far apart from the palantine blades and the Kacophani marines. We have happily agreed on using the Kakophani marines as noise marines but all with blast masters and in a heavy support slot, but we couldnt decide any 'counts as' for the blades. I have made this set of rules, but was wondering if its too powerful? I have based it off the Blood angels sanguinary guard, but i cant decide if its undercosted or simply too good for its power rating? Points will have to come later. Any tweaks or adjustments you guys can make pls go for it>>>>

PALANTINE BLADE Power level: (11)

Palatine Warriors
M 12"|WS 2+|BS 3+|S 4|T 4 W 2| A 2| Ld 8| Sv 3+|

Palatine Prefector
M 12"|WS 2+|BS 3+|S 4| T4| W 2| A 3| Ld 9| Sv 3+|

Wargear:
Bolt pistol
Palatine Falchions: Melee S4 ap-3 d3|Abilities: On a wound roll of 6 the ap becomes -5 instead of 3

Abilities: Heroic Intervention

your mind

Others who know better will have to weigh in but wow, those guys are hard hitting.
Others who make their own stats for characters and so on add a couple power levels because they have made a custom unit and want to err on the safe side.
When gw had vehicle design rules they also seemed to follow this sort of recipe. I built a tank with those rules and it came in more expensive points wise than a similar tank off the shelf, standard. So if you worry aboutnpower level then add a couple just to be safe. When you play them ask your opponent to give advice. A good hobbyist will be straight wit you and not salty as you are clearly in the open and doing something cool.

Yep absolutely, it's more about getting these dudes on the table and showing their personality off, and still having a chance at winning than being overly competitive. I will definitely increase their power level
