Spoiler:

There was a contest on a Facebook group to build a mek themed after a renowned Ork converted. I decided to enter and do a Big Mek in Mega Armor. I have no idea if this is a good combo or what the rules are, I just wanted to make a cool model.

I started with a Juggernaut Armor from Kromlech. I only wound up using one saw.

Spoiler:

I knew I wanted servo arms, so I made some out of styrene. I was also going to have a Waz bosspole but I wound up abandoning that - it was getting too cluttered.

Spoiler:

The servo arms in progress. I used a prod from the Grot kit and a drill bit from some third party - pretty sure Kromlech or MaxMini.

Spoiler:

I built up the backpack a bit to support the arms.

Spoiler:

I added some rivets from the Tychy Train Group.

Spoiler:

I made a rivet gun from a stikkbomb launcha, a shoota, and used the hand from a Black Orc.

Spoiler:

Not 100% sure where I got the tesla coils from - maybe the Morkanaut kit? Anyway, I made all the hoses with the Green Stuff Industries Tentacle Maker.

Spoiler:

Then I painted him up.

All around:

Spoiler:

Here's a size reference with some Boyz. It's a pretty big kit.

Spoiler:

Here's a size reference with some Mega Amour Nobz.

I also scratchbuilt the MANz, which was way more impressive before GWS released them in plastic

Spoiler:

Here's a size reference with some a Killa Kan and a Deff Dread.

Spoiler:

Me being me, I got this done long, long after the contest had ended. I didn't do the greatest paint job on him - unfortunately much like the Meka Dread, there is so much clutter on the kit I think it's hard to photograph well, so I didn't want to spend hours painting detail that would be hard to see. I just did a decent job and called it a day. As with every model kit I ever do, I had a lot more fun on the conversion and building than the painting.

Nice and stompy - well done.
Love the Kromlech stuff, looks pretty cool.

Cool thing you posted all the WIP pics to get some ideas for my next conversions.

In the casting shack.

Love it. Ever thought of casting up the Mek stuff as a conversion kit?

Nah, too much effort for no profit even if I owned the rights and I don't - the only thing I 100% built myself was the robot gripper arm. The grot prod and tesla coils are Games Workshop and the drill bit is (I think) Kromlech.
