Hey all, looking for some advice on paint selection. At the moment I'm basing my tau army in warplock bronze, however it's just a bit too dark for what I'm going for. Do you all have any suggestions for a layer paint to lighten it up to a lighter shade of bronze?

All metals are the blank (lightest) metal colour with colour pigments in it. It used to be called mithril silver, but it is probably something else now. Warlock bronze is probably Dryad Bark or some other dark brown. Just mix your own 'mithril silver' (or what it is called) with your selection of brown and you now have you lighter warlock bronce.

While I use Vajello metallics mostly, I find that going with a brass to layer up from bronze often works, and failing that, mix in some gold with the bronze to lighten it up.

Alternatively, try a different undercoat color. If you're using black, bronze will be quite a bit darker than if you're using light grey or white primer. You could even paint bronze over top of silver to lighten it up.

I usually add Runelord Brass to the Bronze for layering, adding Silver changes the composition of the paint from a brown colour to a white
