Today, I painted my second Blood Angel inspired by the army from WD139. There was... a bit of a gap (of twenty years or so) in between.

Brother Engel

Sergeant Raphael

There's an army in the works (in the style of the second model!), based on the army from WD139, which has nostalgic memories for me

The inspiration:

Great job! That's going to be a really nice looking unit - even at two every 20 years or so I love the missile launcher as well. Thanks for sharing.

Twenty years is a bit of a gap? I'd hate to think how long a hiatus would be! Thanks for sharing these, I too am a big fan of that Missile Launcher.
Good stuff...

What, no afro?

Thanks for the commentary, all. Here's a WIP of the Captain. The head's a placeholder, but hopefully the inspiration is clear:

Cool looking update of a classic character. Stormcast + Primaris for the body?

The torso's a Stormcast model (bought in bits, so I'm afraid I don't know exactly which type). Interestingly, the Stormcast torso is exactly the same width as the Primaris torso, so it makes kitbashing a cinch.

The remainder of the model is from various Primaris kits – the halo and legs from the Chaplain, the arms from the Dark Imperium box.

Talking of retro updates, here's an ork of a fine old vintage...
