Hello all

So I am and have always been a Salamander player. I love the flame loving spesh marines. I have my forge world Vulkan model and can obviously use it in 30k. However I am really enjoying new 8th edition at the moment. I was wondering if anyone had any house rules for 8th edition Vulkan that is balanced enough that I could put him in some games. Would be cool to fight with or against 40k Girlyman with my own primarch!

Thanks

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Just take the 30k profile and modify it slightly using the Guilliman 30k to 40k rules as a template:

Vulkan PL18 350pts
WS2+ BS2+ S7 T7 A6 Ld10 Sv2+

Weapons
Dawnbringer: melee, melee, S10 AP-4 Dd6, this weapon can re-roll damage rolls when targeting models with the vehicle keyword.
Dawnbringer: melee, melee, S8 AP-2 D2, instead of making normal attacks, all models within 1" are automatically hit by this weapon.

The Furnace’s Heart: Assault d6 R:18″ S6 AP-3 D1, models are automatically hit by this weapons attacks.

Heavy Flamer: S6 AP-1 D1, models are automatically hit by this weapons attacks.

Abilities:
And they shall know no fear.

The Draken Scale: Gives Vulkan a 3+ invulnerable save , halves the strength of any flamer , fusion , volkite, melta, or plasma weaponry used against him, rounding up.

XVIII Legion: re-roll to hit and wound rolls for friendly SALAMANDER units within 6".

Father of Flame: Friendly SALAMANDER units increase the strength and damage of Flame and Melta weapons within 6" by 1.

Something like that? I'm not too familier with Vulkan in 30k though so I don't know if these rules are entirely suitable.

Those rules look pretty good.

“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.” ― Robert A. Heinlein

"Yar har fiddle-dee-dee, being a pirate is alright with me!
I'll do what I want 'cause a pirate is free, I am a pirate!"
