Howdy folks, been a long time since I've been around these parts, but I'd like to present to you a roleplay (using the 8E WHFB rule book as a basis) in the same vein as the older Dakka rp, Blood Moon. The format we'll be using for a character sheet is as follows:

Additionally, you may take a Major and a Minor NPC as your companion. Major NPCs are built just like standard characters, but must either be Adventurers or from your faction. Minor NPCs are contacts and friends, such as a local tavern keeper who owes you a favor or a barber surgeon who keeps a running list of your ailments and how to treat them.

We'll start as soon as we have enough people, let me know if you have any questions, but everything should (*should*) be self evident in the provided doc. The doc will likely be updated on a semi-regular basis to fix any balance issues. I'll make a post here to inform anyone of any changes that take place.

Note that this is an OOC thread and the actual IC thread will go up once we have enough players.

Name: Wulfram Esnault

History: Wulfram is second generation freeman since the fall of the family’s nobility. His father was obsessed with returning to the higher rings using the last of the Esnault’s favour to have his one and only child to be raised with an education and in a noble house as a ward. Although Wulfram was talented and had promise, he had watched his father’s continued fall as debts promised, bottles emptied, and his clumsy attempts continued to stain the Esnault name. On his 16th birthday he was offered the chance to squire under a knight who served the house he was a ward of. He decline and left the noble house to begin his life under his own terms, shortly later he was informed of his father’s death, the circumstances uncertain.

The Esnault name was something to be avoided as his father had burdened it with heavy debts and misconduct that was the gossip of the courts for several years. Young Wulfram would find his path in the armies of the king as an archer, recruited half a year after his leave of noble life. By the age of 19 he had served in two campaigns to root out beastmen raiders. Educated, skilled, and popular among his fellow bretonnian soldiers he found a place in a sleepy hamlet. A warden to a noble’s forest, tracking wild beast or poachers whichever disrupted the peaceful day to day life.

He left for a third time to continue to aid the border skirmishes that plagued Bretonnia. Returning as a trusted veteran Wulfram would train and lead a small brigade of archers and pikemen. As the beast men forces forced back to the pits and carnage fields that they had emerged from. The hamlet would welcome home their heroes with a minor feast and Wulfram was given a position of honour. That night he was betrothed to a merchant’s middle daughter, a bookish woman whose reputation as an erudite had given her father some trouble.

For the last two years Wulfram has been living a comfortable life with his wife Maiwenn. The couple had learned to love each other and had became a staple of stability for the area. Wulfram, a close friend of the county's sheriff, would help keep the law and Maiwenn whose knowledge of trading has helped the merchants and farmers improve their craft. However this idyllic life was destroyed three months ago. A cult following the chaos gods had attacked the hamlet, killing indiscriminately and when the fires burned out and the order re-established Wulfram came home to find his home ransacked. Ritualistic symbols carved and painted across the house and his livestock slaughtered but worst there was no sign of Maiwenn. Swearing to rescue his wife he has been tracking the cults killing and rituals across the lands to the city of Grenzerstadt.

History: Originally hailing from the Sigmarite minority of Grenzerstadt, Lars came from a family with origins in trading for the Empire that relocated to the city because of it's port being a major center for commerce. However, his upbringing as a merchant was not to last. After his mother was abducted and murdered by a coven of witches in a bizarre ritual when he was only 12 years old, Lars devoted his life to the Temple of Sigmar, and underwent training as a Witch Hunter. Now, after nearly three decades of devout service destroying Chaos cults, mutants, and witches throughout the Empire, he returns home with the cadre of Witch Hunters, sent by the Temple of Sigmar in hopes that his originating from the city may alleviate some of the concern the Cult of Ulric has about the Sigmarite Hunters, though the effect remains to be seen.

History: Errol is an honest man who despises a malevolent liar. Some lies are innocent, such as telling one's wife that she does not look plump or telling a family that their loved one fell courageously in battle when he indeed died after falling into the ocean in a drunken stupor. However, lies such as saying that nothing is wrong when something is most definitely wrong are damning and make a man such as Errol incredibly upset. Errol's family has lived on Grenzerstadt since it was reclaimed from the foul taint of pirates and wreckers, his father's father was a Greencap and his father was a marine, and Errol too strayed into the same life of his ancestors until rumors began to circulate around Morrshaven and the contemptible Brotherhood of Morr failed to actually look into any happenings or rumors that the people reported. When the Greencaps failed to do anything about it either, Errol took it upon himself to trade in his equipment and convert to the Temple of Sigmar where he found others like him; willing to defend their homes and families, to band together like brothers, and to bring justice to those who would bring taint or corruption to their city.

Grenzerstadt had been good to him, it was time for Errol to return the favor.

History: Dieter is new to Grenzerstadt and was looking for a place to stay after following Witchhunter General Markus Hochfleischer to the island city which had been surrounded with rumors of taint, corruption, and lucrative potentials to see oneself garner rank. This was where he met Errol Albrecht, a man who shared a common passion for keeping the taint of undeath away from the living world. The two differed on why they wanted to patrol this particular island with Dieter seeking personal gain, and Errol wishing to keep his friends and family safe.

History: Living in peaceful isolation, Cyntov's youth was spent enjoying studying poetry and competing in athletic games with others his age, he quickly became a respected member of his clan. His youth was cut short at 25 when beastman stormed his forest home. The next 10 years was a bloody stalemate of ambush and retreats to protect his home. Years of war left war left Cyntov's skin scarred and torn, he has since covered them with blue tattoos telling the heroic tale about the defence of his home. Cyntov became a fanatic for the trickster god Loec. He learned to make his attacks more brutal and mischievous, then learned the stances of the wardancers. The war made a real turning point a defence pack was made with the humans of the North. While still at the young age of 39, life has become troublesome for Cyntov, now plans to find new hope in the rustic ways of the northern human.

Darksage here, back with a new name and ready for a great RP

History: Baldwyn like so many others had grown up extremely poor and found work from a young age with the greencaps, he served in the greencaps for 20 years, years he'd look back on with pride. The other big source of pride for him was his family, with a loyal wife, a daughter and 3 grown sons who all joined up with the Greencaps as soon as they came of age, there was very little he lacked for. Unfortunate circumstances would see his wife and daughter dead and put him at odds with the Green Caps leadership. He resigned over what happened and joined up with Freikorps since fighting was all he knew. His sons were all at odds over what happened as well, the oldest stayed with the Green Caps against his fathers wishes, his middle son Arlan went with his father to join the Freikorps and the youngest left without word to anyone leaving no trace or note of where he was going. The happiest years of his life were gone and he hoped he would be able to save the remnants of his family and seek revenge on those responsible for his wife and daughters death.

History: Originally from the Brotherhood of Morr, Marius was tasked with safeguarding various shipments that passed through Grenzerstadt on behalf of his order. Usually these would involve mundane materials such as wood for maintaining the port and the assorted ships that docked in the bustling city. Occasionally, one would be given the task of escorting a cart to the Morrshaven, often under the gaze of moonlight. The task seemed strange and menial, one might have questioned the need for a guard or why the cart smelled so foul but a fat bag of coin usually silenced waggling tongues and curious minds.

It was on one such night that Marius Kraus’ life would change forever.Marius was chosen to deliver a fresh cart full of the corpses to Morrshaven, presumably to bury them. However upon delving into Morrshaven himself he was directed by some of his brothers deeper into the garden, into secret damp tunnels that burrowed beneath the ground. Inside resided the Truzoviks long though passed away along with all manner of undead monstrosities. In awe, Marius bent the knee and slavishly served the family for years keeping the peace in Grenzerstadt and keeping the Truzoviks well supplied in terms of both corpses and information. When the time was right he received the blood kiss from Mikoslovich Truzovik himself, the process was agonizing, his flesh tore apart, blood gushed forth and Marius had become a dreaded creature of the night.

History: Desperate for even a hint of vampiric power, Albin Groth followed the old rumors surrounding Morrshaven, snooping around the gardens and graves for any hint of ghosts or ghouls. His search bore fruit when Marius emerged from a secret passage and dragged the skulking adventurer in front of Mikoslovich Trudovik himself, rather than deal with a dead adventurer and draw unwanted attention, the vampire lord granted Groth his wish and shackled him in servitude to Marius Krause provided he spread the word that he found no such evil in Morrshaven and that it is but a simple garden.

Inquisitive and eager, Albin Groth frequently draws the ire of his master Marius who more often than not would rather observe from the shadows and not draw attention to himself whereas Albin is more than happy to meet whatever catches his eye head on, causing Marius to wonder what he did to Mikoslovich Trudovik (or at least what Mikoslovich thinks Marius did) to deserve such a punishment.
