Well yes as a weapon yes they are new. However I don't think the design is. As far as I have seen every bodies reaction to the reivers has been
1) The helmets stupid
2) Morton Joe
3) The bolt Carbines are cool

Please tell me of any other reactions you've had or seen as I think they will be intresting to hear.

However, I have found an old scout biker boltgun with a foregrip. The foregrip being the all new all amazing part to the bolt carbine. This part I believe is from the nineties but I'm not all to sure.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

1) The helmets look great (needs a proper Night Lords' paint scheme though).
2) Not really.
3) It's a Boltgun with a verticle grip, who looked at these models and went "Wow! That Bolt Carbine looks great!"?

As for whether it's new? Probably not but it's still unusual... I guess? Not seeing the big deal with this.

I agree with Mrhappyface, I haven't heard anyone say that the helmets are stupid nor have I heard anyone say the carbines are cool.

I like the idea of carbines.
I don't like that they turned out to be bolters.
They should have been distinct in some fashion that wasn't a completely unnecessary grip (which given the forces involved with power armor and possibly gyrojet firing, is more likely to fail than just holding on to the rifle like marines normally do).

Largely agree on the helmets though. Like chaplains, I just don't see the point.

What's a 'Morton Joe' when it's at home? It sounds like some kind of shoe. Or chewing tobacco.

"Everybody's reaction?"

Odd, I haven't heard anyone say anything other than, "The only thing I like is the helmet"

I wish they could have a Carbine and Knife. Helmet looks good as does the Carbine.

The two cover pieces for Blood and Fire depicted a Celestial Lion with a foregrip on his bolter.

And it is cool!

2) Morton Joe

I believe he may be referring to the lower-skull mask of the character "Immorten Joe" (NOT "morten Joe". the character's name is clear in the credits listing.) from the last "angry and mumbles a lot" Max movie "Fury Road".

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Who else would he be referencing?

Voss had asked what a "morten joe" is.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

As for the question, I've not seen bolter carbines until this release.
