Hello wargamers,

Since it does raise a fair point that shooters being charged just don't stand there and do nothing,
so does it seem fair to give the same type of reaction to melee.

So the melee unit being left in the movement phase could strike the enemy unit with all their attacks hitting on 6 's.

Would you accept this rule ?

I accept this proposal.

Falling back would still be way better than exchanging hits, you're almost never going to get out of charge range anyways, attempting melee still has more risk than shooting for not much more reward without being able to totally dictate your opponents turn like it used to, overwatch gives so few successes anyways it's hardly a risk (Even as T'au shooting my whole army of overwatch barely anything ever comes of it), and people consistently complain about how both succeeding and not succeeding at killing a unit in CC leaves them vulnerable. Since this keeps coming up it seems like the CC crowd could be thrown a bone. Be warned though, if this becomes a rule an exception will exist somewhere. Even normal overwatch can be avoided by having strategically placed terrain much to my disdain, at the least somebody will have a tactic or stratagem to prevent it.

This was something I proposed a short time back on the boards, so I agree I think it's a good idea as well.

As Shas'O'Ceris states, there's probably some units that should be able to negate this rule - maybe those that had Hit & Run in previous editions, and possibly anything with Supersonic (if those units can even be engaged in HtH).

Could also be a sort of reverse Tau Overwatch ability for attackers - I could see units of Khorne Berserkers within, say 3", of an enemy unit that disengages from melee combat getting to performing their attacks on the "fleeing" units.

It never ends well

And Chaos Furies. They should be able to pounce on nearby fleeing units.

Also, when I saw someone with a Tau name post, I assumed they were gonna rant and rave about how unfair the idea is. Glad that I was mistaken!
