I'm just hoping that they are viable in a powergaming environment. Khorne was woefully underpowered with their first book, and the Blades of Khorne book helped a little with the tithe but they are still not really super efficient.

The Overlord book came off like a wet sock that, while internally I think is decently balanced, externally cannot hold a candle to any of the bugbears of AOS.

And hopefully new great unclean one!

A new Great Unclean one would be nice.

Hopefully it would also mean I could get an old metal one cheap on ebay.

I am really looking forward to new campaign books. I think the setting is so much more developed now since the Realmgate wars. We have cities and dungeons and other exciting areas to explore. I can't wait to see what a new campaign book would look like and hopefully it'll have some Free Peoples present in the stories.

We also have Firestorm coming as well.

I'm really hoping for a decent battletome to go with it, mostly so I don't have to paint up all my Tzeentch models to win games.

Well heres hoping NORMAL humans returns.
even tough the hammerhall box has sigmarines in it, it is the first time in aos existence that regular humans gets a tiny spotlight.

I'm hoping that too! i'm glad you pointed out that there are actual humans in that box, i hadn't even noticed. I'm going to take it as a good sign.

Yes. I'm ready to see this world get fleshed out a lot more. I've got several other armies sitting in boxes waiting for some decent rules and a current battletome.

Too bad AoS isn't popular enough here for this because it would move my Kharadron Overlords army up in priority.

I'd love to see the world fleshed out with more battletomes, but unfortunately I think deathrattle may be up next...

So a friend of mine at gencon is saying we have a unit of snail cavalry and a snail chariot incoming.

I'll definitely have to see this in person. Because all I can think about is the snail rider from Never Ending Story lol

I swear, if i see my future opponent field the new nurgle models, i`ll give him the victory before he has even deployd.
they make my tummy turn and not in a good way..

Wow. It's like GW had the opportunity to create something truly disturbing with a large nurgle mount, but took the comedic route with a goofy looking snail. I predict this will be the butt of many jokes and generally hated by gamers and miniature painters alike.

I don't think the snail is going to be as big of a flop as you think it's going to be. Most people in my gaming group that would care about daemons/Nurgle are pumped about the snail and personally I think the model is going to be really fun to paint and will be pre-ordering.

Yeah, after writing this I was surprised to read on other forums that nurgle fans were excited about the snail mount.

I'm glad that this will be promising for sales and strenghten GWs stock, but I personally prefer the dark/twisted side of chaos, and like that to be reflected in the models.

I also get that nurgle is supposed to have a humorous/playful side, but the snail's face and the tiny feet are plain dorky looking.

I like it because it's finally playing on Nurgle's caring grandfather side instead of the constant diseased ironclad knights of decay side.

I'm hoping we'll see a relationship between this type of "gardener" and the Order of the fly like a twisted version of human knights guarding their farmers.

As well the Silver Tower warpriest, his part and the other humans in the novel, Everything about Hammerhal, the fluff-bits of the Lantic Empire and the Stormcast's pasts, the numerous human side-characters in the novels from the Candlemen, beast realm settlers, Steppe Khanate remnants and their fire monks/giant allies that opposed chaos, the reincarnated Tsarina...

All good developments for normal humans, but looking strictly at campaign books I can see why there would be a craving for a more significant normal-human presence. Outside of Stormcast-Sylvaneth-Fyreslayers-Khorne-Nurgle-Ironjawz there was next to nothing in terms of participation. Which is acceptable given what the Realmgate Wars were supposed to be, but would not be acceptable to continue with going forward.

The thing is this snail thing wouldn't have fit into the old world WHF aesthetic which was more gritty. But AoS as a whole is a lot more cartoony and comical...so in that case it fits into AoS quite well. I do like the model, but I kind of miss the very dark and violent style that was the "thing" when I got started with this hobby.

Haha, I guess we leave out Wfb's colorful and cartoony past what with halflings, Bretonnian peasantry and dwarf singing band riots?

6th edition made Wfb a bit more grim but the humor was still there. In fact the Old hammer players I know complain the opposite and that AoS is too serious and lacks the charming comedy/parodies of the Old World.

Oh definitely, now that Azyrheim doesn't have to remain being sealed and the cities are flourishing so proper human armies can operate instead of hidden away remnants we should see a lot more human activity.

It has a little comical look to it but as a nurgle player I would field one or two ...just to say I fielded a snail. As for the look, you can make it look as disease poxed as you want, you can also make it as dark and imposing as you want, that is all in the paint.

I can't decide how i feel about the snail. i love the idea of snail cavalry! but those eyes...

Ah well. at least is looks like Audrey II has found a new home.

The Nurgle special character and allegiance abilities would have to be pretty strong otherwise I don't see how those Nurgle deamons would have a chance against the Stormcast.

And yes fingers crossed for new GUO.

Horticulous was stated to both buff other units and fight well in melee, so I think he will be a strong offset.

he buffs other nurgle beasts, so hopefully there will be new models for them as the old ones are quite crappy.
