I stumbled across this website today, and it's captured my fascination all day.

www.scp-wiki.net

I like the layout of the website, as if we were looking through actual archived files of this organization. It's like a combination of Warhouse 13, Men in Black, and Supernatural.

I've fully read case 093 and 096 so far today, and both of those were very compelling stories that make me want to know so much more.

Edit: maybe this would be better off in Geek Media, if a mod agrees.

Oh I saw a Imgur pic series based on these but I didn't actually go to the website. It looks like a neat place to poke around and get lost and next thing you know its been an hour or two.

Yeah, that's where I found this as well. What was on Imgur though was just a little quick blurb. When I went to the source, it was hours of reading.

the SCP wiki is a great place to get lost for a few hours with the lights out. It's basicallly eldritch horror through the lense of the scientists, soldiers, and otherwise ordinary humans trying to contain them. Some stories are terrifying, others are merely clever or funny, but they are for the most part cleverly written with a penchant for subverting popular tropes.

The key is the intense and sometimes draconian moderating and editing teams who WILL take down the fan-fiction that doesn't make the cut. I personally love the slow world building that takes places throughout the early SCP stories and entries. Now that there are so many SCPs, the breadth of the foundation is so large that it defies belief, but the early stories that hint at vast conspriacies struggling vainly to protect the world from its inevitable destruction as reality unravels around it are pure joy.

Also, there is a set of tales I highly recommend called "There is no Anti-memetics Division." It's amazing and I believe the best set of tales on the site.

Also, Do not read the proposed SCP 001 entries. They are various "root causes" of the weirdness in the SCP universe and should only be read after you have a firm grounding in the SCP universe.

There is a "hall of fame" on the site that will give you a good grounding in SCP lore and send shivers down your spine.

Anyway, I have probably spent days on the site reading the thousands on entries and tales. It was time well wasted.

I spent a few months reading literally everything on the site when I was on night shift and the filter blocked most other things a few years back. Some great stuff on there.

Probably work

SCP is pretty delightful. I've always wanted to run a Dark Matter game centered around it.

Some pretty solid stuff in there.

Oh, yes, one of my favorite sites. I wrote an SCP that's still on the site today, but sadly it was written before I standardized all of my usernames to "Verviedi".

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Great site, I've spent way to many hours there reading skips. There are a few good people on youtube who do readings, I usually listen to Eastside Show SCP. I like his voice and the filter he uses for his mic, makes it sound like a old audio tape or a pirate radio site broadcasting.

Check out SCP-1981 "Ronald Regan cut up while talking" it's one of my favs, there is a tale that goes along with it also another great read.

I really enjoy the tales section tho. CHOWDERCLEF!!!!!

I am glad they have moved away from the LOLFoundation period tho.

The LOLFoundation was when some authors such as Dr Bright, Light,Clef where writing "zany adventures with a SCP foundation background" as there is no cannon.

http://www.scp-wiki.net/clef-and-dimitri-hit-the-road

check that out, it's a funny as hell story and I rather enjoy it but.... LOLFoundation.

Please don't think it's a dig or a shot at the SCPwiki, I love the place and just recently joined as I've had a few ideas. But just like Rogue Trader as a table top war game and not a awesome universe, somethings are just best left in the past.
