Instead of reviving an old thread I decided to start up a new one, but as usual, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong mods .

I ran through 100-110 in Legion a while back and did 65-70 just through the new SWToR storyline around the time it launched.
Spoiler:
I preordered both games...help, I have a problem...must resist urge to go play a Demon Hunter more...
But after that I dropped SWTOR until recently.

A couple of things.

Even though I've done every class quest line at least once (well, except Trooper, I have Coruscant and a couple other bits left I think) I started leveling an Assassin. I think leveling is currently better than it's ever been and it might be good enough to entice some people to experience SWToR's wonderful class quests. No, seriously. If you like Star Wars at all it is worth spending the money just to play through the Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent, Jedi Consular, Sith Inquisitor, and/or Scoundrel story lines.

Right now with just class quests and heroic missions (easily soloable now) I've outleveled the MQ by 1 or 2 levels. I skipped heroics after Nar Shadaa because leveling was too quick, but I have bonuses to class mission experience and a 60% bonus to all experience (legacy traits and gear) so I'm going quicker than a new player would.

The Outlander storyline isn't as great as the 1-50 content imo, but it's not bad by any means. It's a really nice change of pace from the standard MMO model where you either grind or knock out short quest chains in order to level. Here the story is interesting enough to merit a playthrough to experience it, not just for XP. Also, the game is set up so you can skip story segments, for example:

1-50 can be skipped and you can go straight to the Makeb chain
Makeb can be skipped and you can go straight to Shadow of Revan, but you have to play through Shadow of Revan to see all the quest content on certain worlds
Shadow of Revan can be skipped and you can go to the Eternal Empire/Outlander storyline, which is handled much better (imo) than previous expansion quest chains.

Crazy thing is, the devs are actually releasing content...there have been two patches since expansion launch that added quite a bit of content. I haven't gotten through all of it, what with leveling alts, but seeing new Operations and Flashpoints again is great.

The current gearing system for endgame is much better than it has been in the past. Getting your initial set of tier (Set bonuses are very important) is much smoother than ever before. Which is good, since it is very important for progression.

There is actual work going on during the expansion (opposed one balancing act done at the start) on dealing with class issues.

All in all, I think the game is in a really good spot and more accessible than ever. It's not as sprawling as WoW, but unlike that game, SWToR actually has real RPG elements outside of character customization.

The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy

I thought the expansion started strong with the first half but the ending of the first half and Koth the little idiotic gak stain ruined the game for me. I hear the second half gets even worse and isn't worth playing.

I only played for the story so there's my take on it. I was so mad after the first half that I didn't play the second just watched it on youtube. The latest story line is less about you as a hero and more about yo watching the Emperor's family doing stuff and your a glorified button pusher.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

I've been enjoying the Eternal Empire stuff more than the majority of the Class stories, actually. It feels more like a Bioware game, now.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
