I'm Corrode and I paint a lot of Imperial stuff. I've not played much since the start of 6th ed, but with the release of 8th I've come back to gaming. At the moment I have:

- Crimson Fists
- Blood Angels
- Imperial Guard

And I'm just starting up with Adeptus Mechanicus as well.

I also have Dark Eldar although I'm really not feeling them at the moment, and thanks to Dark Imperium and a few things over the years I have a small Chaos army as well although it's not in any kind of usable state.

This log will mostly focus on Imperial stuff, largely the Ad Mech initially plus whatever other bits and pieces pop up. I also have some terrain on the go and of course there's getting my old armies into the modern format.

I have a box full of rubbish eBay vehicles which I picked up cheaply a while ago. A friend and I were going to build a wrecked vehicles table and never really got around to it, but I'm starting on it now.

I've since painted a white stripe around the edge of his robes at someone else's suggestion and it looks better that way.

Painted up another Escher and got most of the work on Greyfax done. Also realised that I already painted one Escher ages ago. I bought these models when I was still in school so it's probably 14 years from purchase to painting for them, which feels like slightly too long.

Standing her up on the pipe makes her a bit more imposing, and she's tall anyway - she towers over the old Eschers.

Nice job on Greyfax. The cloak looks ace.

Thanks! I think at least some of it is the photo trickery used to make the model visible at all with my godawful picture set up, but I'm pleased with how she's turned out.

Painted these Eschers only 14 years after teenage me bought them to try out old Necromunda, just in time for new Necromunda. As mentioned, these will also do double duty as part of my AM Conscripts.






I tried to get a mix of different skin tones in there to change things up a bit - a couple of shades of white, the sort-of Asian you can see on one Juve and better on the shotgunner, and the black which I unfortunately can only capably manage one shade of. I think it helps break them up nicely especially since different skins work with different clothing colours - although I've only just noticed that both the heavy and the knife/pistol girl are dressed the same. Whoops.

I actually painted this LR a little bit before I started this, but I liked it so I took some pictures:




Ignore the heavy bolters standing in for the assault cannons, which have been requisitioned to sit on a Razorback.

Can't seem to focus on one thing right now - I have the Redemptor Dread, two Skitarii and a TPD all at various stages and I can't seem to fix on just one of them to get on with.

Finished off the Redemptor this morning:




Initially I wasn't into them at all, but since I'd built and painted this one I've come around on them - great kit.

So after talking about Ad Mech right at the start of this I proceeded not to paint any for two weeks. Happily I've rectified that now with a Tech-Priest Dominus:






I tried some OSL on the gun, I'm semi-pleased with the result although I think maybe it needed to be a bit brighter to really work.

Got Celestine painted up along with another couple of Skitarii. I like the little group of orange dudes.

I am never upset to see Escher models being painted and I really like your version of Celestine. The dark armor is really working for me.

Thanks. Really I just suck at painting a good looking gold, but I like her in black too - a bit more of an avenging dark angel than the living saint.

Painted up Cawl yesterday and tried some OSL:





I think it's basically worked although probably not perfectly. I also finished off a couple more Skitarii but I'm not going to bother posting them again until the squad is finished.

One consequence of deciding to do them with this polar basing theme is that I'm going through Valhallan Blizzard very quickly, which is annoying. It's the best snow basing I've used, but all the big Ad Mech bases take a long time to do with it and run the pot out fast. I dread to think what's going to happen when I have to do the Onagers and the Knight...

Good stuff, man! I'm liking the snow bases, they go great with that lovely orange. Crimson Fists are always cool to see as well.

Thanks! One day when I have a house with things like "space" and "storage" I'm going to build the snow board that they match, but for now I have to content myself with the basing theme.

Been away in Hungary and Slovakia recently but I've been back painting this week. A tiny Ad Mech army is taking shape:



I also finished off the Geminae to accompany Dark Celestine, but I can't seem to get a good picture of them all right now.

Converted the plasmas from pistols + hotshot volley guns, since GW is determined that no-one should get more than a single special weapon at a time.

Some Bullgryns today. Really liked these. I did them in the same scheme as the Scions, which seems to be how GW approached them - I thought they'd look a bit drab in the grey fatigues my regular IG have.

Looking back through the log I built this on the 28th of August, so that's quite a wait to get it painted - no surprise given what an absolute slog it was. I really like the model but I'm not looking forward to painting the 2nd one - never mind the 3rd or 4th.
