I have a question concerning the new pitched battles objective claiming:
What is meant by:
A player controls an objective if, at the end of any turn, they have a unit of 20 or more models from their army within 6" of the objective and the enemy does not, or , failing that, if they have more models from their army within 6" of the objective than there are enemy models within 6" of it.

Do they mean:
You control an objective with 20 models when an opponent does not. If you do not have 20 models you just need more models then your opponent.

Or

You always control an objective if you have more models then your opponent within 6". (But then why not just word it like that)

What is exactly meant with "failing that" sounds a bit ambiguous to me, and you could argument both ways, could you not?

Or third option:
You only look who has the most models if both players have more then 20 models within 6"?

I got my own answer re-reading it another 5 times.

They mean that nobody can claim it if both players have more then 20 models within 6". The rest is just most models...

You've got it all wrong, at least by looking at the words you are typing.

To satisfy the first condition you need a unit with 20 models or more models in it, within 6" while you opponent has no unit of that size within 6". You don't need 20 models within 6". In fact you just need one model to satsify that rule as long as the unit in question is 20 or more models and your opponent hasn't also gotten such a unit within 6". Even if you opponent had 50 models within 6", if none of the units in question were 20 or more you'd still claim it with your 20 man unit. If neither player has a unit that large within 6" or both players do, then you go and just count models within 6". So there's some positioning strategy depending on which player has the horde units and their locations on the field.

Put another way, if you are familiar with 40k 8ed, they gave units with 20 or more models objective secured for those two missions.

snoogums: "Just because something is not relavant doesn't mean it goes away completely."

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

thanks. I overread that it is just within and not fully within.

Thanks for explaining. Hadn't caught that two opposing units of 20+ could fight over control of the objective by cramming the most models from said units within 6".

With love from Denmark
