Hi
Just got myself a death alliance army which is going to be painted up as 'white walkers' from GoT... This intrigued my non gaming mate who now wants an army to go against them but keeping the Game of Thrones sorta theme... I have no real idea how alliance works or how all the other human armies look. So was hoping someone could give me some hints - or if someone has already done similar, cheers.

Humans are in a weird spot right now. They would be classified as Free Peoples, a ramshackle band of folks from the leftover world. There is no real "Human" army so to speak currently, just remnants of the old world. That may change in the future.

Stormcast are the main "good guy" army that appear human for the most part, so that would be the easiest route if he wants to be the good guys (although in GoT, good is relative).

I had a thought on this last night while watching GoT. What if he ran Marauders led by a Darkoath Chieftain with some Chaos Gargants allied in and call it a Wildling/Free Folk army? Bonus points if you can find one of the old Forgeworld mammoths!

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

The Free peoples under the Order Alliance could possibly work for his army if he wanted. That gives him the human appearance with a more line of order. Something to look at.

My idea is that your friends should grab a few Perry boxes from war of the roses/xv century. Paint them as Lannister colours and use them as freeguild companies.

There's plenty of models in either the Order (Freeguild and Stormcast namely) or Chaos (Slaves to Darkness, some of the other factions) sections that are humans and wouldn't look out of place in GOT.

If you wanted to try something a bit...different you could run Sylvaneth (basically tree people) as a children of the forest list or buy a few Dragons (either Stormcast or some of the elf models have them) and run a Targaryen army.

I think if you go the chaos route, Chaos Warriors would be great for the Night's Watch.

To those that say there is no stupid questions I say, "Is this a stupid question?"
