The trailers and promotional gameplay have made it look a bit like Bioshock, though as it is right now its just a run of the mill open world survival game. Though as with the above video that may change.

I wouldn't call it a "run of the mill" survival game. There are quite a lot of scripted events, locations, and quests that have been in it for some time.
