So I am going to be building my Heer regiment as close to historically accurate as possible, I am looking for any links you guys have that can assist. I have http://www.niehorster.org/011_germany/44_organ/43-11-01/kstn_0131n.html and http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/ttt09/german-infantry-regiment.html anything else would be wonderful! Thanks

You are building an entire regiment?

Do you have any specific unit or organisation in mind?

What game is this for? and what sort of time period are you interested in?

That has the basic German infantry platoon organisations for the whole war. Early war Germans had 4 platoons per company but this was dropped to 3 by late war.

For both battlegroup and bolta action. I have 15mm for BG and 28mm for BA.

Are you building the unit to the way it would look on paper? Or are you trying to mimic a real one? Almost no unit in history has ever matched up to the planned paper-strength decided by the military.

So, a kind of fictional "perfect" regiment?

The German army had particularly notable problems in this regard. Compounding the usual issues that every army suffers from, the German army also had to deal with a huge variety of variants and captured equipment. One infantry unit might be using brand new PaK40 anti-tank guns, while the unit on one flank is using captured Soviet PaK36(r) guns, and the unit on the other flank is stuck using PaK38 guns. And that's just the anti-tank guns. So trying to settle on a single "historically accurate" OB is not going to work unless you have a specific unit in mind.
