Nice and simply.

Tell us of your home world, Usul.

No. Wait. Not that...erm...ah yes.

Tell us of the TeeVee shows you watched a while back which you rate quite highly. For instance?

It's Neil Gaiman for goodness sake. Cast is superb, production values surprisingly high given it's the BeeBeeCee, who tend toward the Shoe String budget for the sci-fi/fantasy. It's even aged quite well (Pattison Joseph steals every scene though). Oh, and it's got Peter Capaldi in it.

Right, your turn. Recommend something to a right old square eyes.

I remember liking the BBC TV series based on Mary Stewart's The Crystal Cave (the first book in a series of five retelling the Arthurian legend in a quasi-historical form). Merlin of the Crystal Cave, says Wikipedia, but it's a red link. :(

Sapphire and Steel. Awesome back in the day and still holds up now. The complete set on DVD is still easy to find.

Agreed on Neverwhere, btw.

For next to no money Neverwhere was passable (although the Beast was unintentionally hilarious despite the attempted work around)

Robin of Sherwood was another brave attempt made on no money, like watching someone else go a LARPing

I really love The Middleman and Pushing Daisies. If I remember correctly both got a bit of a kick in the teeth due to the 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike. On the positive side, they are both rather short with 12 (The Middleman) and 22 (Pushing Daisies) episodes.

Matt Groening's Futurama continues to be the best thing television ever did.

DS9 has aged well, better than the other Trek series.

Both of these.

For shows from my childhood I still love Invader Zim and am so excited there's going to be a movie in the next year or so.

I also like Law and Order (the original).

Still love Farscape and Stargate SG-1 (Atlantis less so, but still good).

For right old shows, no comedy yet has managed to beat 'Allo 'Allo and Blackadder (although Futurama is pretty good).

The Young Ones. Filthy Rich and Catflap, and Bottom have all stood the comedy test of time.

Mind you, it's hard to go wrong with fart gags, slapstick and blatant innuendo

Rest in Peace, Richie.

Not really a fan of all three of the ones you mentioned. Please insert the caveat "for me" in my previous post as required :-P.

And obviously for any future posts concerning personal tastes.

Malcolm in the Middle. Best family comedy I've ever seen. Bryan Cranstons roots.

The Newsroom. An awesome smart show that is hilarious without being idiotic.

The Wonder Years. Any show that makes you wish you'd been born in another era must be good!

Too many to list, really.
But, to pick just one, I'll go with the one from my avatar and sig: Twin Peaks.

Two of my all-time favorite shows are both of the 90s. Buffy and DS9 I continue to watch to this very day.

The first four seasons of Futurama are excellent - what about the post-resurrection stuff?

All of Futurama is pretty solid. I myself still like South Park still to some extent. Went to watching old Simpson's as well. Love quoting that show.

How about we go even older than TV? What about old time radio shows? Love me some Jack Benny, Johnny Dollar, Dragnet, and Gunsmoke.

Seconded on the 'Robin of Sherwood' front, that stag chap was pretty freaky!
'Farscape' is an incredible piece of telly as well, I really should try and watch them in order some day.

My picks;
I love 'How Not To Live Your Life' and still regularly use the phrase 'Sammybookas' despite detesting the stuff. Admittedly it isn't very old though!

I have to mention 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys' as well for being utterly billiant in its cheeseyness!

True- although the post-movie seasons brought it back with some really great episodes. 'Fun on a Bun' is one of my favorites, right up there with the Devil's hands are idle playthings.

Futurama is one of my mainstays- along with Community.

From the 90's Babylon 5 and DS9. The 80's, it would be Robotech and ST:TNG (late 80's early 90's). The 70's would be the Doctor Who (though I didn't start watching until reruns started airing on PBS in the early 80's). Prior to that, old westerns like Have Gun, Will Travel, Bonanza, The Rifleman, and Wild Wild West.
