I'm working on building a Blood Angels army with every intention of fielding it with my current Dark Angels. My question is, fluff wise, would they get along well enough to fight together. The only examples I've found supporting this so far are in Unremembered Empire where the Lion and Sanguinius seem to get along just fine, as do their respective legions. At least, there's not the kind of tensions you see between the Lion and Sanguinius that you see with, say Leman Russ or even Roboute. In the 40k universe there's really not much I've been able to find saying anything one way or the other. Is this due to their locations and that they just never come into contact? I mean, would that not fight beside each other enough to really have a lasting opinion or are their examples?!

Thanks in advance for the input!

Aside from hiding their various secrets from each other, they're fine. Just a general mutual agreement not to go in the Blood Dungeon/Traitor Dungeon when on each other's ships.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

If you don't show me yours I won't show you mine.

They were house mates in 2nd ed (shared a codex).

Generally, fine.

One might raise an eyebrow when the other pinches a certain CSM, the other just says don't go near the guys in black with red soltaires.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

They treat each other with mutual respect during campaigns.... Afterwards, both their chaplains get grim dark real fast.

crystal, mn

Together they are the Angels of Death.

Of all the other chapters codex ive read.. seems like DA+BA=good mix. both have similar play styles.

BA assault is more jump troops, DA is more bikers. Both use termi warriors for heavy hitters. BA would let ya field scout bikers. Deathwing Knights with support from death company.. could be nasty.

I haven't considered Death Company and Deathwing Knights yet. I may give that a try haha.

My thinking has been to use the DA Gunline (Azzy, devs w/ML/LC, Shroud, maybe Lt) and screen that with BA assault units (mainly Death Company). Basically try and mix the strongest thing from each codex to see what happens.

This is the list I had in mind:

Battalion Detachment

Azzy
Libby
3 x scout squads - 4 sniper rifles each
Darkshroud
3 x devs, 8 ML, 4 LC total
3 x razorbacks w/asscans

Vanguard Detachment
Sanguinary Priest w/JP
Sanguinor

3 x 5 man DC - JP, 1 PS, Boltguns and rest chainswords

The plan would be to screen the guns line using the razorbacks and drop the DC into cover (or maybe later game depending) and use them to engage GEQ and MEQ units or grab ojectives. I'm not going to rely on charging the same turn (mainly because I can't get Lemartes, everyone is constantly sold out). They will have the sanguinor and priest so that's +1 attack on the charge and +1 charge. That'd be 24 attacks on the charge wounding MEQ on 3+.

I feel like it looks great on paper but not sure if it'd actually work.
