Hey guys,

I have been playing AoS for about half a year with a small seraphon army i got for my birthday. Now I'm thinking about buying some more miniatures both for the fun of painting and for playing. And I was looking to maybe get into 40k to make a post apocalyptic style army.

I love the vehicles of the orks because they just look like something straight out of mad max and fit exactly in with the theme i was looking for.

Now I was wondering if this is possible to make a playable (and useful) army existing mainly out of vehicles. And also what vehicles would be best to buy first.

Thanks in advance
Billie

Absolutely!
Works are the best!

I like the battlewagon.
But orks can loot other armies' vehicles.
At least they always could. So you can get old imperial tanks second hand and orkify them ...
I like the walkers a lot too.
Really cool army.
Great too collect, lots of history, and lots of stuff on eBay to pick up often very cheap.
Go for it!!!

Honesty, probably not. Trucks are very killable and bikers are very over priced for what they do, especially because of Orks terrible BS. As for warbuggies and wartracks, they are some of the worst GW models out there, but that just means you're going kit bash something way cooler.

But it'd be an amazing themed army and your opponents are going to love the fact you're not throwing hundreds of dice at them like a green tide army.

For a more competitive build you'll probably need some tougher walkers mixed in, with some tasty tank busters and nobz in the vehicles. Of course, GW might make some points adjustments and rule changes later on and make a madmax style hoard more viable. As for special ruses when the codex drops I'd look at evil suns, there're the speed freak ork clan and will probably give you some nice buffs.

But I agree with the others though, get what inspires you. Because the rules and the meta always change anyway and winning isn't everything right?

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
