Hi i am quite new and i am looking for help making my first list. I dont really know what kinds of things are good or not as of yet.

So far the models i have are:

HQ: Terminator chaplain

Troops: 10 man Tactical squad

Elites: 10 man sternguard squad
6 assault terminators

Fast attack: 10 man assault squad

Dedicated transport: Rhino
Drop pod


Most of this hasnt been built just yet as i haven't decided on a loadout, any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

I would consider getting a Land Raider for your Terminators, you can fit all of them in a Crusader or 5 and the Chaplain in a Redeemer. You can either put the Assault Squad in the rhino or give them jump packs. I would put the Sternguard in the drop pod. Grab some Scouts or another Tac squad to get up to three troops for a Battalion. And also get a Captain for your second HQ.

What would you recommend arming the captain with? And i am thinking of doing 3 tac squads or 2 tac squads and one scout. Was thinking flamer and missile for the tacs. And for the stern i was gonna do chainsword bolter, 7 with bolters for the special ammo then two heavy flammers. And jump packs on the assault marines, with 5 terminators and the chaplain in a landraider(when i get one) Thanks for the advice!

I would at least give a Captain a Power weapon, I am a fan of the axe, and the MC bolter is solid. If you know he is going to be in the thick of the fighting you might invest in a Thunder hammer and Combi melta.

For tacticals I would stick to one heavy weapon or the pair of special weapons (regular and combi). Don't sink too many points into them they are their to be tough and hold objectives. Use your specialists for the fancy toys.
