So my return back to the game has come with a massive learning curve. I now understand that vehicles are not as easily destroyed as in previous editions. So my question is how much anti-armor should you take?

In my WE army at a tourney I ran a Pred with Las/HB combo and a helbrute with HB and TH. In my previous tourneys this was pretty decent at most infantry and whatever armor was there. I just recently invested in blood slaughterer, decimator(claw/butcher cannon)and a couple land raiders. I've also got another helbrute, daemon prince, bloodthrister, bikers with meltas, and defiler(with las arm). This seems like a bit overkill and I definitely don't want to overdo the anti-armor. and lose out on zerkers and terms.

I personally find people use a LOT of armour, i personally run 12 lascannons and a few krieg artillery and engineer squads to deal with it, took down a knight list with minimal issues.

Lots. AT guns can be turned on medium infantry fairly effectively, guns that are effective against medium infantry cannot necessarily be turned against armor for maximum effect.

You want to be able to deal 15-20 wounds reliably per turn against vehicles. I wouldn't go too top heavy though, as the current meta is leaning towards hordes of infantry.

Wow, IMHO that would be too much anti tank. I'd say enough to kill 1 rhino or dread per turn. Too many armies don't have serious tanks to destroy, many of them just have transports. Dealing with infantries is more important I think.

With DE I never bring more than 11 lances (3 ravagers and 2 raiders), occasionally with 2-3 blasters if I have the points. And the tipycal problem I have is that infantries are hard to kill. But since poisoned shots are not that good I can't build a DE list based on anti infantries so lances and blasters are needed.

With SW I bring 4-6 lascannons, 3 plasma guns and some thunder hammers (or wulfen axes) as anti tank.

With orks my list has a lot of anti tank, 20 tankbustas, 4 bomb squigs and 2 KMKs, plus 4-5 PKs including ghaz and zhad ones. But the most competitive orks lists have no anti tank at all but pks/big choppas and smite.

I really like missile launchers for the versatility what they lack in ap they make up for in frag shots against hordes.

If you don't know what your going to face adaptability is never bad.

Less than you think. The las-pred along with lightly kitted bezerkers with a few plasmapistols in rhinos along with a handfull of malefic lords and a sorcerer (or two) is probably all you need. The hellbrutes, daemon price, bloodthirster, and melta bikers I would leave out.

Where I play the meta is dominated by taking very little anti-tank. Elite infantry is hard-countered by smite, and T8 spam is soft-countered by objective holding.

What do people do against lords of war? I played against a Tau Mega Suit of Ultamite Doom(kx139), and I felt helpless.

Had a game against a landraider, knight and storm raven with 15 plasma and 4 lascannons and had no issues.

also never forget those krak grenades

iv killed more storm ravens throwing grenades up its tail pipe than anything else.
