This might be a stupid question. But im kind of a noob when it comes to wh40k. I just started playing and havent sort out all the rules. My question is for the macharius mega bolter. I wonder how many units can it target in one shooting phase? A friend of mine said it can only target one unit each turn for each weapon. But i need something that can take out lots infantry units in a short period of time. Will the vulcan do the trick or will it only be able to shoot 2 units whit my twin vulcan?

iirc it is a single weapon profile called "twin vulcan" right? Then it's one single target for that weapon profile. So not two targets. Each weapon profile can only target one unit.

The Macharius Vulcan Mega Bolter can only target 1 unit even if it sits still (why would you ever move it with a 60" range?). It should be noted that you will probably not waste many shots with it if you're targeting infantry as it will statistically kill 12.5 guardsman, or 6.66 marines (or termies) on average if it fires it's 30 shots at full BS.

In other words, if you want to -reliably- wipe out an IG infantry squad, 5-6 man tactical squad, devastator squad, or a mid-sized terminator squad in one shooting phase, then this gun is a -great- weapon to do it with.
