Hi Lads,
Just a very quick one, when modifying to hit rolls I've seen you can't modify below a roll of one but have also seen people saying you can modify above +6 to hit.
Is this the case as it seems a little dodgy?

Why would it be dodgy if it's written in the rules?
GW says you cannot modify a roll below 1.
GW never said that you cannot go over 6.
GW wrote rules that literally say "a result of 6+" // " a result of 6 or higher". Some saves are 7+ so you NEED e.g. a cover modifier and the enemy being AP0 to even have a chance at saving that wound.

Ah it just seemed a little arse about face considering they went the whole "anything can potentially hurt anything" route with to wound rolls.

Does that have anything to do with that though? There's almost nothing that modifies wound rolls.

By stacking two psycic powers (from diff disciplines) and a stratagem. You would need a battleforged multi-Division force to do this. (Death guard & Nurgle daemons)

GW says you cannot modify a roll below 1.

GW wrote rules that literally say "a result of 6+" // " a result of 6 or higher". Some saves are 7+ so you NEED e.g. a cover modifier and the enemy being AP0 to even have a chance at saving that wound.
So what your saying is if I conceal my Scorpions and they charge, the unit would need a 7 to hit: 6 for charging, -1 for conceal. Thus no over watching?

overwatch is always a 6, irrespective of modifiers

Overwatch is not modified in any way and will always need 6s to hit.

Technically, it is the other way around:
A Unit with BS:6 is suffering from a -1 to hit... don't assume they are safe to Charge, we ignore both those facts entirely.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |
