So I got some questions....

Can Dark Angels use Storm of Fire warlord trait? I played a guy today that was using this warlord trait on Azrael with his Dark Angels force, which I found a bit weird but thought maybe it got FAQ'ed some where as this is a Codex Space Marines trait.

If a Land Raider in the open back field is more than 50% obscured by a ruined building in the midfield from the point of view of a unit of devastators standing across the table. Does the land raider get a cover save bonus?

As far as I understand the cover rules in 8th and how I have been playing it amongst my friends. A vehicle needs to be BOTH sitting inside cover AND 50% obscured in order to claim a save.
My opponent today suggested that the land raider gets cover save simply by being 50% obscured only.

Which is the proper way to claim cover saves?

Vanished Completely

1) No, as per the following within the Space Marine Codex:
In the rules described in this section we often refer to ‘Space Marines units’. This is shorthand
for any ADEPTUS ASTARTES unit that has one of the following Faction keywords:
<CHAPTER> , ULTRAMARINES , IMPERIAL FISTS , SALAMANDERS , WHITE SCARS,
RAVEN GUARD , IRON HANDS , CRIMSON FISTS or BLACK TEMPLARS .
A Space Marines
Detachment is therefore one which only includes units with one of these keywords.

Note that other Space Marine Chapters, such as the Blood Angels and the Space Wolves,
deviate significantly in terms of organisation and fighting styles. These Chapters therefore
cannot make use of any of the rules or abilities listed in this section, and instead have their
own rules.

- SPACE MARINES UNITS

So we informed that Space Marine Chapters other then those in the underlined section can not make use of Rules or Abilities found within 'this section...' so what is 'this section?'

In this section you’ll find rules for Battle-forged armies that include Space Marines Detachments – that is, any Detachment which only includes Space Marines units (as
defined below). These rules include the abilities below and a series of Stratagems. This section also includes the Space Marines’ unique Warlord Traits, Psychic Discipline,
Relics and Tactical Objectives. Together, these rules reflect the character and fighting style of the Space Marines in your games of Warhammer 40,000.

- SONS OF THE PRIMARCHS, introductory

2) No, as per the Frequently Asked Question:
Q: Do units that are not Infantry (Vehicles, Monsters, etc.) gain the benefit of cover from woods, ruins etc. if they are at
least 50% obscured by that piece of terrain but are not actually on or within it?
A: No. Unless they are Infantry, such a unit must meet the two following conditions to gain the benefit of cover:
• All of its models must be either on or within the terrain.
• The unit must be at least 50% obscured from the point of view of the firer (note that it doesn’t matter what is
obscuring the target, only that it is obscured).

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
