I was wondering.
If I use nurglings in my Death Guard army, can i set them up as normal troops instead of summoning them?
I'm a bit confused since they have a rule that during deployment they can be set up in their deployment zone or anywhere on the battlefield if its 9inch away from the enemy.
I would like to add them to my Death Guard list so I can try and charge them from turn one in a very shooty unit who can threat my Mortarion.

Yup. Your choices with any daemon units are a daemonic summon or Setting up normally or setting up using the units special rule if it has one.

Yes, you can use them as a normal Troops choice if you like. However, note that they don't have the DEATH GUARD keyword, so if you include them in a detachment, that detachment will no longer qualify as a "Death Guard detachment" and so won't get any of the associated abilities.

An alternative is to have a dedicated detachment for your daemon forces so your Death Guard keep their bonuses, or include the Nurglings as an Auxiliary Support Detachment, though this will cost you 1 CP.

I was gonna run them in a separate Battalion detachment.
So one Battalion will be my Death Guard and the other one will include a 2 Heralds of Nurgle and 3x Nurglings as troops.
By doing this I keep my Death Guard Legion rules for the first detachment right?
