We’re making a new combat/rpg dice board game heavily influenced by old-skool classics Hero Quest and Space Crusade and we’re looking for fella’s and ladies who may be interested in backing such a project should we attempt to crowd fund it into existence. We built a DIY prototype and have been playing the hell out of it. It’s been a lot of fun!

If this tweaks your whiskers & sounds up your street, please head over to our temp site where you can find out more about it, check out some pictures and sign up to our mailing list which we’re using as a gauge of interest in this project.

This subforum is more about discussing and solving game design issues designers may have than simply promote crowdfunding of indi projects.

Hello, It's more of a "gauging" of interest in the HeroQuest/Space Crusade type of game. As of now there is no active crowdfunding campaign. That's something that will be put together if enough interest can be generated. I thought this would be a good forum for like minded people who were in to that sort of stuff.

Most of us here are more on the design/ production side of gaming so we are a small group to gauge interest, the boardgames, sci fi/ fantasy or general discussions sub forum are a better place to gauge interest from potential customers.

Yeah, this probably isn't the best place to gauge interest in a board game. But as someone who enjoyed heroquest/space crusade, i'll bite - which is it? I have noscript running, and your link takes me to a blank page with a ton of scripts on it. I don't run .exe files from friends sent to me in the mail, and i don't disable script protection on websites linked by random strangers. But i am potentially interested in the game.

Our game is influenced by various aspects of both. We've got a pretty decent prototype that allows easy testing and aimed for a similar level of simplicity/difficulty, it's rpg/combat dice oriented. Our site is only a sign up page. A few pictures of the prototype, some artwork from artists involved. If you get the chance, check it out. There's nothing dodgy there, it was built cheaply through wix and is only temporary whilst we build interest for the game.

Yeah but what i'm basically asking is, is it fantasy like hero quest or sci-fi like space crusade?

Futuristic but with fantasy elements, like Star Wars. Definitely high tech stuff rather than just clubs and sheep skin armour etc.

The Black Crown Board game continues to test well and support has been growing, which is great! We've also created a new party board game we're currently just calling "Band" which puts the players in the shoes of a band humorously dodging and weaving their way through the music industry.
