Something alot of people seem bothered by is the absence of any wind mechanic.
We're thinking of working one in to our next few games, where wind direction is rolled at the start of a turn and remains in play for the length of that turn. Players moving against wind get half movement, players parallel get no change and players moving with the wind get standard move +s move.
We've also added in a couple of house rules to incentivise ship to ship combat a bit more. Now when you sink a ship you get that ships points cost in gold.

Good work on your islands,A Nice texture on the rocks & trees,Would like some of my own for my Pirates CSG Collection,So much nicer compared to cardboard islands.
