These feathers look great, you've broken it down well and your tips looks useful (like using a wet finger as backing). One thing I might add is that it might be easier to score the diagonal lines after the putty has hardened a little bit, so it might be worth waiting an hour or so after sculpting the basic shape before adding in the detail?

That is a good idea. I've long since gotten into the habit to start sculpting at once without waiting for the putty to harden. To save time, or because the sculpting step may take so many hours it might harden before one is finished if I wait a while before starting sculpting.

As such, I didn't even think of this. Thanks for sharing the useful tip!
