Like buses the units arrive two at a time ! After months of nothing I get two units of Knights done in short time.
More 28mm Fireforge Figures, this time the Templar Cavalry set painted up as the less well known (and pretty small) Knights of St Lazarus.
I read a book on these a while back and the green crosses give them a different look from the normal red and white.
More pics on the blog. Regards Ken

Nice paint jobs, although I think I would have gone with no exposed faces. While Leprosy doesn't not always initially target the face, it is a common site for the infection to show. The soft tissue of the nose, in particular, will waste away due to it.

Maniac_nmt,
The Order was made up of those with Leprosy (in varying degrees) along with their carers who were not infected. It was considered a highly pious deed to tender to those with Leprosy in the Holy Land.
The unit is therefore made up of healthy individuals as well as those in the early stages, hope that explains it.

The Military Orders are a fascinating piece of history. They are famous for their exploits in Arabia, but Europe was the scene of their most successful campaigns; Spain, Malta, and all of Eastern Europe.
Poland eastward to Russia lasted centuries longer than the more well known crusades, and was more 'successful' in that the orders captured and held the territory there.
